Wonderful hotel with great staff,...

Liked: Nice modern hotel with period features, really nice spacious room (we had the Thyme suite), excellent breakfast and first-class staff in all areas. Handy location in terms of just being off the beaten track meaning it’s only a 2 minute walk to the seafront.
Disliked: Parking was an issue during the busy BH weekend we visited with all spaces immediately outside the hotel taken, many with cars that looked to have not moved in months. It’s probably less of an issue off-peak season though. We ended up having to park some distance away down a side street…it was free so that was good but it was a 10 minute walk past some, putting it politely, less-than-desirable properties and people. In fact, such a nice hotel being in the immediate vicinity of these undesirables is a shame, but once inside the hotel itself it delights throughout.
