Liked: Rooms were clean. Location okay
Disliked: Room was a bit tight for 3 people. I didnt like the sink. Too shallow. Room was a bit dark. No full length mirror. Confusing layout inside the hotel to get to andaz because of presence of another hotel.

Strong Stench+Subpar Suite=Terrible Value for...
Liked: Condesa is not a bad base for exploring Mexico City, and it's pretty and safe with plenty pf good bars and restaurants. While the attempts at a funky, creative design at the Andaz didn't always work (and the LPs in my room were badly scratched when I played them on the in-room record player) , I appreciated the effort. An intentional 180-turn from Hyatt's bland corporate vibe.
Disliked: There are two major reasons I would never stay at this hotel again nor recommend it to anyone:1) As other reviews have noted, there was an overwhelming stench of sewage in my room my first night. I'm not talking about a faint whiff or even a pretty strong odor. It was thick and suffocating, waking me up in the middle of the night (after I had closed my windows because of street traffic) with a brutal headache. To try to sleep, I put my roll-on deodorant directly under my nose, but this was a smell that felt like you could cut it with a knife. A truly horrible experience. To give the hotel some credit: Although my call about the problem was ignored the next morning, a face-to-face complaint at the front desk that evening did generate an immediate response. Two maintenance workers came to my room and seemed to know just exactly what to do to address the problem (presumably because it's such a common issue): They disassembled the shower in my room, removing some parts. They said that should fix the problem, and it did. But why wasn't this done before I arrived and before I was put through such a sensory ordeal? The windows in my room were open when I arrived, so I'm guessing housekeeping knew of the problem in advance.2) I pay a big premium for a suite for one reason only: an interior door between the bedroom and exterior hallway, to reduce noise. But at the Andaz, the suites are arranged side-by-side, with one exterior door to the bedroom and one to the adjacent living room. This defeats the whole purpose of a suite for me, and if I had known of this unusual layout, I never would have paid for the suite.Other than those two glaring, unforgivable problems, the rest of the experience was pretty standard in terms of service and amenities, though I probably would have thought the suite was at least a little overpriced for what I got, even without those huge, deal-breaker problems.

Very good
Liked: Staff were kindCoffee shops were helpful
Disliked: We saw some staff protesting, which is concerning. I want to know the staff are being taken care of and paid well. Until I know this, I will not book with Hyatt again.
