Disliked: Didn't like that the staff told us the train station would be open and trains running and it wasn't so got stranded at train station and after paying for train tickets we had to get the bus

Exceptional service

Liked: Everything. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very friendly. Bed was very comfortable. Beer was very good. Would definitely stay again. This was a last-minute booking as we had turned up at our previous accommodation, which turned out to be awful. I booked this online, and we arrived at the hotel 20 minutes later, and they were expecting us. We checked out at 11am and were able to leave our luggage to go exploring.

Great location, decent but not...

Liked: The location of the hotel is excellent, right in the middle of the town centre. The staff are very helpful and nice. Breakfast was nice.
Disliked: Our first room the aircon didn't work. We moved and still we found the duvets were more like winter than summer - way too hot. The room was serviceable but not great. The bathroom was small for two people. The breakfast buffet only had one coffee machine which was not enough for the occupation level. You also need to factor in that the parking garage is about 40 euros per day, so this make the hotel an expensive option if you travel with your own car.

Liked: Grand hotel with an impressively beautiful staircase and stained glass window on top. On a just perfect location in the heart of Haarlem. Although modern, it is not that recent anymore which has its advantages; you may open a window if you like, and there is water pressure in the shower. There is always staff present, so you actually meet friendly people.

Disliked: No AC; they only had a fan. The rooms are outdated.
