Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge

Disliked: Check-in was delayed and gave less time to prepare for our evening plans. Arrived @ 3pm to check availability prior to 4pm check-in, and was promised a call when ready. We remained on site and toured the grounds awaiting the call. After no call was received, checking again at the desk @ 4:15pm and a delayed confirmation of availability...we were in our room @ 4:45pm. This was disappointing for our group of five, considering our 5:10pm departure time to ensure reservations for the evening 40 minutes away. While traveling out of state it is nice to have more time to freshen up before heading out.

Liked: We were there for our nieces wedding. Very impressed with the lodge the staff and their attention to guests and their service. Will definitely be coming back!

Liked: Beautiful property a lot to do on the grounds- easy hikes to the falls.
Disliked: The staff was not at all accommodating. I understand that check in was at 4pm but we explained that I wanted to just get him checked in- the room didn’t need to be ready. He was starting his through hike and I needed to get on the road for a 10 hour drive. they didn’t care. Didn’t even offer any type of solution. Just rudely told me to come back in 3 hours. The staff in the restaurant were also rude. They had sides listed on their menu and when we attempted to order one in addition to the meal- she said we don’t do that. Why offer sides on the menu then?

Disliked: The customer service did not seem inviting. There were other customers there who seemed to get a friendlier welcome and treatment. not saying it was a "racial" thing, but we were not made to feel as invited as others as I observed the different level of interactions. The food was definitely sub-par, no one recommended any tours, attractions, etc. I expected a better experience overall.

Disliked: Booked a room for 4 people and didn’t even have 4 towels in the room. Very bare minimum toiletries-like just one small hand soap, a little shampoo and conditioner bottle each and one( already opened TP roll).The dinner buffet was good but that was the only option ( no Al a carte) and the restaurant closed at 8pm. No one seems to deliver food to the hotel either
