Americas Best Value Inn St. Louis Downtown

Disliked: Not the cleanest hotel I've been to. Had to wait three hours for a room to be open after I reserved one two months in advance.

We appreciate the staff here - they did a great job ensuring we had a pleasant stay in St. Louis. The room was clean and well appointed, with a clean bathroom. Friendly folks and secure atmosphere at a great price. Unbeatable combinations for a concert going college kid.

Liked: The sizes of the room, tv and bed were good. The front desk man was Awesome. Very professional, friendly, and accommodating. The air conditioner worked well too.
Disliked: The room was dark and dingy. The towels were FILTHY. I could not use the towels to even dry my hands, just nasty and really very disgusting was the state of ALL of the towels in the room. The bath tub was so bad I couldn't bring myself to step in it for a shower. Even the power cord to one of the lamps had been Spliced together, 2 cords spliced to make one! So Unsafe! The room itself was like it was a cleaned up crime scene.Holes and missing paint, the door is hard to open and have to push it hard with your body to get in. Just...nuts.

Disliked: I arrived to St. Louis at 11 PM and found out my original booking for another hotel had been oversold. This was one of the only ones I could find last minute and just went with it. I had to wait for homeless people to move carts and blankets off of the sidewalk before I could even pull in so it was not off to a good start. When we got taken to our room I was absolutely horrified by what I saw. The carpet on the steps was filthy. The room beside us had their window busted out and covered with cardboard. When we got inside our room it just went downhill from there. Door lock was broken and missing pieces. Ceiling by the sink area was falling down. Didn't even want to step foot in the restroom. Bed sheets and towels were stained with burn holes. Everything in the room was dusty and the crack in the bad had so many crumbs and hair it made me sick. TV sitting in front of the nonworking one. I didn't feel comfortable even laying in the bed and considered sleeping in my car but I was afraid it was going to get broken into while in the parking lot. I left as soon as I could the next morning and forfeited my money for the second night. If I could give negative number for my rating I would!

Liked: Nothing honestly. This was horrible and filthy.
Disliked: The room smelled like an ash tray when we had asked for a non-smoking room to accommodate for a 3 year old and a 6 year old. Also, when going down the elevator, it had stopped on the 2nd floor and we were greeted with a smashed window at one of the 2nd floor rooms. My kids were terrified to continue staying there.
