Americas Best Value Inn and Suites Saint Charles

The overall appearance was tired. Staff reported recent upgrade but this was hard to see.

Liked: Beds were very comfortable.
Disliked: When going down for breakfast nothing remained. Upon check-in was told breakfast was amazing.

Liked: It was nice to be located near restaurants and shops.
Disliked: It was a very gross hotel. Tiles in the elevator were broken up and not cleaned up. There were drawings on the walls. The doors had holes in them. The entire building stunk very badly. Lights were flickering. The pool water was freezing even in the middle of summer. The breakfast was horrible. Although the staff was friendly, that was the only upside. The beds were very uncomfortable, the bathroom did not feel clean, and it was overall one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.

Liked: The location was convenient and the price was good. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The room smelled of cigarette smoke and the key card kept losing it's information so I had to keep going back to the front desk to get it reprogrammed.

Got what I paid for.

Disliked: Room smelled like dirty sock, door didn't have security lock like other hotels have, shower was slow, NO live Local channels, staff do not know how to make fresh coffee, bread/bagel/breakfast items were several days old and some bread slices were dry as if it was toasted and then restored, the only good thing is the location, and staff were OK.

Don't stay here!

Disliked: Dirty, no fridge just a hole in the carpet, stained, stinky. Outside broken glass, no place for pets to move. I walked out requesting my money back but it was not refunded!

Disliked: The check in iprocess is very slow. No service.We wanted to stay an additional night. Despite rooms being available according to booking .com , the hotel says they don't know how many rooms are available.. They don't seem to know what is going on.. The lLifts down work..
