short and stinky

Liked: I did not even stay. The only positive thing about this place was the owner. Even though it was a non-refundable reservation he only charged me the holding fee, since I checked out 5 minutes after arriving. For that I was grateful!
Disliked: It smelled like smoke so bad that it caused me to go into coughing fits until I left the building. When I went into the room it was mildly less stinky but the bedding was stinky and crusty feeling, I think very old bedding. I did not stay.

Passable

Liked: Very old, outdated and smelly place. It was our last resort as all other hotels were booked. After reading reviews I was looking for bed bugs, but thankfully didn’t see any.
Disliked: Location was ok

Liked: An affordable option for Mom's weekend. Good location.
Disliked: The hotel is dated and smells of smoke.

Exceptional

I've stayed in nicer hotels...

Liked: Was able to get a room.
Disliked: Room was dirty, outlets were loose, bed had long hairs on it, bathtub was moldy, boogers on the wall, hallway smelled like marijuana.

Very poor

Liked: It had four walls.
Disliked: Paid $230 for the room. The room felt dated and dirty. Kids wanted to sleep in the car.

Bad

Liked: One of the cleaning staff said "Good morning" to me.
Disliked: Defensively rude and unfriendly desk person who insisted on a $100.00 "damage deposit" when checking in, had to inspect the room before he'd check me out, and asked me if my mother - picking me up to take me to hospice to see my dying father - was "with me" - like she was a woman I'd picked up and brought to my room!?Rundown and dirty property. No pride.I've traveled a lot and have, at times, stayed in very humble accommodations. I can put up with quite a bit of rough living if people are polite and welcoming - bonus points for kind, friendly, caring, amusing, fun! I won't repeat this experience, won't be back, and - I get it, Sir! - won't be missed.

Worst customer service ever.

Disliked: Horrible customer service. I try to support the small retailers over the big name ones when I can. I have stayed at his hotel numerous times in the past never had an issue and have never been charged a deposit. Now all of a sudden they want to charge me $100 deposit. No big deal I refuse to pay deposits when I am a diamond member with Choice Hotels and Wyndham. I have a clear history that shows I don’t damaged rooms. So I kindly asked the owner (he just happened to be checking me in) just to cancel my reservation. He said fine. Then when I asked about my refund he told me I had to talk to the third party I went through, and that he had no say in that. Well that was a bold face lie. When I called the third party explained what happened they advised me that all they needed to do was call the hotel and get the refund approved. We’ll no surprise the owner told them no. I don’t support businesses who don’t offer customer service. So that’s the thanks I get for supporting his small motel instead of the big name hotels. Don’t trust this owner. If he’ll do this to a loyal customer who only knows what he’d do to someone who’s never stayed there. I’ll contacted better business bureau also.
