American Inn

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in ever! I showed up at my check in at 3p.m. and had to wait another 45 minutes as they had just started cleaning my room. Once I was able to have my room they gave me a smoking room when I am a non-smoker. The carpets were dirty, there was cigarette ash in the cabinets; the beds, sheets, and pillows had stains all over them and what looked to be cigarette burns. My room was also covered in bugs; the bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned. I talked to the manager, who was very rude and hateful. And she said there was nothing they could do and I couldn't get my money back. I ended up sleeping in my truck as my room was so gross.

Liked: The hotel was terrible.
Disliked: Everything about the hotel was bad.

Awful

Disliked: Stayed one night checked out immediately the next morning as we found bed bugs. One bug and when I reported it to the office and asked for a refund she said we brought them in that she checked the room and there we're no bugs. The sheets were stained from previous bed bug issues they were dirty there was hair on my pillow that was not mine.

Disliked: We came to be close to the State Fair. The room was full of bugs. Flies, roaches, and crickets were hopping, jumping, and flying around. Room smelled like smoke when we entered. We went to the front desk to complain about our room, and we were offered another room. We went in that room and it smelled better, but a roach ran across the table upon entering. All our stuff was in our first room. The front desk lady came into our room and said we were making it up when we have video evidence. She offered us a Raid can to kill them ourselves, and told us when people come to this motel they understand there will be bugs. We instantly got on the phone and moved to another one down the street.

Liked: Air conditioner worked well. Rest of it was bad.
Disliked: Bugs in bathroom. Dirty wet towel in bottom of fridge. Guessing fridge didn’t work.

Disliked: The rooms were dirty, cobwebs, dead flies, linens had holes and stains. The carpets were stained and filthy. The rooms were hot. They did not leave the air on in them, so they smelled musty. There were cockroaches in two of the rooms we were shown. She refused to give us our money back and told us that since the room was cheap what did I expect. I told her a CLEAN room. She was rude and told me she cleaned the rooms herself. I laughed. Since she wouldn't give us our money back we stayed in a double room because she kept telling me that she can't give refunds only her boss could. BUT he would call me on Monday to talk to me about getting a refund. I said is he really going to call? I didn't believe her ,so I said screw it you're going to get my money anyway find me a damn room. I'm sitting in that room writing this sweating my butt off because the AC isn't cooling this room down at all. Look, I get I only paid 56 bucks for this dump, you get what you pay for I know. But there has to be some kind of expectation of clean even for 56 bucks. If I wanted to sleep with roaches I'd go sleep in a gutter. Just plain nasty.

Disliked: I requested the room early because I came from California on the train. Didn't get into my room until almost 2pm. Sitting in the heat that while time with luggage's. The room had so many bugs. Spiders, roaches and flies. Nastiest place and rudest people. Never again. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

A little more sanitizing would...

Liked: Location was close to Fairgrounds.
Disliked: The bathroom smelled like urine and flies were always getting in somehow. I bought fly swatters.

Bad stay as stated above

Liked: No breakfast door would not lock especially from inside toilet would not feel with water no coffee or cups one morning price went up 100$ plus from booking time Location was fine
Disliked: Called 3 days trying to get front desk never got through after 37 phone calls no maintenance complaints from several guests very frustrating check in
