Amendola Central Station

It was a great base...

We had five wonderful days...

Liked: Extremely clean, well-maintained, and perfectly located right next to the central train station and approximately 900 meters from Piazza Maggiore, the heart of Bologna.
Disliked: Everything was absolutely perfect

Liked: Location, cleanliness, breakfast supplies
Disliked: The street door push button did not work as instructed

A good place to stay...

Liked: Very close to train station. Newly renovated room in an old building is nice and clean, with all we need for one night stay. They provided some nice coffee/team and snacks in room (ready to made), that is very thoughtful and welcoming.

Exceptional

Liked: The location - it is just a short walking distance from the main station and it was exactly what we needed.

Better a proper hotel that...

Disliked: Booking instructions too complicated for older travellers . Too many upper case instructions

Liked: The location was good. The room reasonably ok.
Disliked: Didn't like no long length mirror. I didn't like the size of the room. I had to keep telling partner to move away. I was also very disappointed that my friend who also stayed with me in another room didn't get the room she believed she paid for, which she wanted a larger size.

Our 2 nights in Bologna

Liked: Located close to the railway station. Lovely, comfortable room.
Disliked: Because there is no face-to-face checkin, it is important to read the email which is sent the day before your booking - otherwise, you stand outside the door wondering what to do next. While the location is convenient for those arriving by train, it can be a bit chaotic at times when traffic is heavy. It is also important to understand that it is about a 30 minute walk to the old historic centre where many of the tours commence.
