This family-run hotel is 1.2 mi outside Alversund and 30 minutes' drive from Bergen. All rooms have a TV seating area and views of the garden or surrounding nature. Parking is free. Private bathrooms and classic décor are standard in Alver Hotel's rooms. Some feature a balcony or mini-bar. The hotel restaurant offers à la carte local and international dishes Monday to Saturday. On Sundays a dinner buffet is served. The garden is a nice spot for relaxation. Reception staff can arrange fjord cruises and fishing trips. Meland Golf Club is 25 minutes' drive from Hotel Alver. Tjorehagen Botanical Garden is a 10-minute drive away.

Superb

Liked: Very good hotel, just 35min from Bergen. Very big car park also underground. We kept our motorcycle dry during the night.Breakfast is quite good.
Disliked: nothing.

Liked: Breakfast, friendly stuff!
Disliked: Really loud noise till early morning- like tring to sleep in the night club.No warm water.

Overall our stay was fine,...

Liked: The property was nice and the staff was friendly
Disliked: The location relative to Bergen is not great. It costs about $80 US to take a taxi into Bergen ($120 from the airport). The alternative would be to take 3 buses with the bus stop down the hill in the highwayWe were also a little disappointed with the food for the buffet dinner and breakfast. We had plenty to eat, but for the price (regarding the dinner) the quality was less than expected
