Cold, impersonal and dehumanising check-in...

Liked: Breakfast??? Ha ha ha.
Disliked: I intensely dislike this type of hotel because there was no staff on the premise to greet you or answer questions. The check-in process is horrendous. You basically have to enter data on your phone, scan two pages of ID, take a selfie, download an app and wade through all kinds of advertising. We had to assist two other bewildered guests. What happens if you leave your phone in the room? Or the battery runs out? As we arrived, the fire alarm was triggered and the fire brigade showed up for a complete inspection. Using my phone, they called the number of the property but NO ONE showed up to the hotel. Clearly, the management doesn't give a damn about its guests.

Clean, spacious, ideal location, quiet...

Liked: Excellent location, room was spacious, clean and had more than enough essentials plus the main communal area had a surplus so no one was short. Quiet and beautifully decorated and place smelt amazing. Bonus was the gorgeous free unlimited coffee from the coffee machine, it was a fabulous extra to have.
Disliked: We love everything about our stay, I cannot think of 1 thing that we did not like or enjoy.

Liked: Central location beside the tram Lovely having a coffee machine and tea bags in main communal area
Disliked: The tap in the sitting room was piping hot the whole time we couldn’t get it cold.

Disliked: WiFi not working in the room and in sopit of a number of coontacts to JOIVY, this issue was not resolved.

Liked: The location is good enough, Very near to the train station,Market nearby .Coming to the rooms,Checkin was easy .
Disliked: Rooms ..! My goodness ,It's too tooo small ,Hardly can we even open the washroom door which was adjacent to the bed ..And NO AC/fan ,The property must say it clearly while booking that it does not provide any of the above ...Yes edinburgh is cold ,but after we close the windows down there is no air

Basic but good value and...

Liked: Good value compared to other properties in the city. I was a little worried about the check in process based on other reviews but it was very smooth for me.
Disliked: Wifi was terrible.
