Solid accommodations if you want...

Liked: The location was great. The room was perfectly fine. No frills, but it was clean and it had everything that was needed. The bed was comfortable. Great base location for exploring the island.
Disliked: The description of breakfast is a little bit of an embellishment. They were fresh fruits, instant oatmeal packets, and instant Ramen. But, I didn’t choose the lodge because of the breakfast description.

Unique oasis in a tropical...

Liked: The location is perfect for visiting the Volcano Park. The property decor is unique and fits the rain forest theme. You can hear birds. King bed was comfortable. Host was very helpful when we asked a question. Directions were clear. Check out time of 11AM was generous.
Disliked: Bring flip flops to wear in the shower since the floor is pebbly (rustic and lavalike).

Disappointing

Liked: Excellent location. Big room
Disliked: No sound insulation. You will hear others in the block regularly and be woken, even if you're a heavy sleeper. It's so poorly noise insulationed you will clearly hear the discussions about PB&j for breakfastFruit and trail bars isn't what I expected as the "included breakfast"

Not hygienic, very humid

Liked: Location very close to Volcano National Park
Disliked: We stayed in the ‘Orchid room’. The room (and everything inside the room) was very humid, strong mold smell. Although we kept all our cloths in our suitcase, they were humid after our 2-night stay. We are not difficult when traveling, but this place was really not hygienic. When neighbors take a shower or flush the toilet, it sounds as a ‘flash flood’ entering your room.Host not very friendly.

Less than optimal

Liked: The nice bowl of fruits..The area of the Volcano.Very Quiet.
Disliked: Never met the owners.Caution bath hot water takes time to warm up, then is scalding hot.Statement of strong WIFI is far from the truth. Two Bars at best. Cut out twice at critical points in work.Over priced.

Superb

Liked: Friendly host, clean room, toiletries and breakfast menu. Great location.

Pleasant quiet surroundings. Lovely room

Liked: A hidden gem in the forest just outside of Volcano National Park. Our one night stay in a charming and well equipped suite allowed us time to go back to the park at night which was a fascinating experience. We appreciated the oatmeal (microwave) and fresh fruit for breakfast. So many beautiful flowers on this property to photograph! Quiet and peaceful night in a great bed!
