Aloft New Orleans Downtown

Room was not worth $196.00 for a 1 night stay. No windows in my hotel room. Carpet wasn't very clean. I came back to the hotel to get something I had forgotten and ended up falling asleep so my fiancée tried to come up to the room because she was wondering what happened to me. Well that didn't happen because the front desk employees for Aloft said that the room was in my name only, and since she didn't have a key and she didn't remember the room number, they did not allow her access to our room. They told her she could sleep on the side walk. So naturally my fiancée got offended and got highly upset and the cops were called and she was arrested and taken to Orleans Parish Prison and I woke up alone and had no clue what had happened until damn near check out time. The entire issue could have been solved and she could have been escorted to our room if the Aloft personnel would have simply taken a few minutes to go look at surveillance video of me and her checking into the hotel and entering our room together. As well as additional videos of me and her leaving and entering the hotel lobby together at least 3 more times in a 3 to 4 hour period! I'll never stay at an Aloft hotel in New Orleans or worldwide. And I'll definitely not be using ConcertHotels.com. Total waste of money and a show of complete disrespect and common sense on behalf of Aloft employees. Not to mention the additional $130.00 fine we had to pay thanks to the incompetent Aloft personnel on shift early Sunday morning!

Great location

Liked: Large room and great location near French quarter and streetcar to garden district. Staff are lovely.
Disliked: -Could hear the lifts travelling up and down all day/all night. -The pool was really dirty. People smoking, drinking and eating in the pool, the water was super murky and not cleaned each day. -Hotel is super hectic on Saturday nights, fire alarm and very noisy neighbours.

Liked: Was waking distance to many attractions .
Disliked: Fire alarm was set off at 3 am had to evacuate building for 15-20 .

Disliked: The mini refrigerator was not working properly I was woken up out of my sleep at 2am -3am from an alarm going off.Hair was on my bed sheetsThe toilet wouldn’t flush properly

Aloft has to do better....

Liked: The convenience to downtown.
Disliked: We could hear the elevator all night from our room. Our toilet was not working properly. We had to get out of bed at 3 am to walk down 14 flights of stairs because someone was smoking inside of the hotel. We definitely didn't get our money's worth.

Disliked: Lady at the front desk very unkind. Breakfast orrible: all food frozen and self service super expensive. Pool: full of guests drinking spirits brought from out, smoking xxx and screaming.Never again, worst staying in 20 years of booking

Very convenient and comfortable

Disliked: Ice room felt like hell, really unruly guests on our floor, pool was very cloudy and cold
