Aloft Harlem is a nice hotel at a competitive price. The staff are friendly and real without that veneer of phoniness you get at a lot of other places. I would stay again if I needed a place in the area.
Liked: Nice room and bathroom with lots of sunlight. Staff is helpful and competent without being nosy or obsequious.
Disliked: No room service available.

Liked: Very helpful and friendly staff. Room was very clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in at a hotel. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again if in the area.

Liked: I liked that it was within the heart of Harlem. Just a beautiful location.
Disliked: The pricing was more than I was willing to pay for. Basically EVERYTHING costs. I misunderstood about the breakfast where only the tea and coffee were free, but the pastries were not free. Everything just cost so much from the price of the room down to the continental breakfast.

Liked: The location was good. The beds were comfortable. I liked that the elevator required a room key in order to leave the lobby, although anyone could have gotten on with someone who had a key. The rooms were extremely small, but it didn?t matter since there was only 2 of us.
Disliked: Firstly, this hotel is not very kid friendly or parent friendly. The bathrooms are sliding doors with no locks, which is not good for privacy especially when sharing a room with kids or anyone that you wouldn?t want barging into the bathroom on you. The parties going on in the lobby were loud. It seemed that most of the patrons weren?t even staying at the hotel. It was loud. I barely slept. The staff was rude. After driving 12 hours to get there, our room wasn?t ready. We?d requested early check-in, but the lady said ?that?s just a request? so we sat in the lobby and waited for our room, 3 hours. The hotel states it has offsite parking, it would be helpful to know that the offsite parking can in no way accommodate a Tahoe SUV. We had to park a few blocks away and walk to the hotel. The hotel employees in the lobby were not ideal for the first impression of a Marriott Hotel. You had to pay 12$ for breakfast, but there was no actual breakfast, there were fruit bowls, peanuts, and pictures of food on the elevator door, but they had nothing like the pictures. It was an expensive stay for a lot of nothing.
