Disliked: Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend for Families or Travelers Seeking a Restful StayI rarely write negative reviews, but I feel strongly that future guests—especially families or those seeking a restful stay before or after a flight—should be aware of what we experienced at the Aloft El Segundo - Los Angeles Airport.Upon arrival, a live musician was performing in the lobby at such a high volume that I had to yell back and forth with the front desk staff just to check in.Even more concerning was the overwhelming smell of marijuana that filled the lobby, elevator, and our entire hallway on the 6th floor. It was so strong that our grandkids kept asking why it smelled like skunk.When we brought this to the attention of the staff, their only solution was to spray disinfectant—an attempt to mask the odor that only made the air quality worse.While the rooms were somewhat clean, they were rough around the edges and did not feel particularly well maintained.Disturbingly, someone repeatedly attempted to open our door throughout the night, which left us feeling extremely unsafe and on edge.We shared all of this with the staff the next morning, and they did relocate us to the 7th floor. While they called it an “upgrade,” the only noticeable difference was that the hallway didn’t reek of marijuana.That evening, we encountered yet another issue—a loud party was taking place in the lobby/bar area with booming music and lots of noise well into the night.This was absolutely not the relaxing, secure stay we had hoped for before our flight. If you’re traveling with family or just looking for a peaceful night near LAX, I would strongly suggest booking elsewhere.

It didn’t happen

Liked: Nothing never got to check in and I’m about to check because I don’t think the supervisor waved the cancellation fee like he told me he would.
Disliked: The fact that I wasn’t able to actually check in. I had driven over 2 hours from where I live as was super excited about staying at the property. Only to be turned away at the front desk.

Pleasant

Great and comfortable stay.

Liked: The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the room was kept cleaned. We received clean towels everyday which was very appreciated. We did not have breakfast but did enjoy the tea and coffee.
Disliked: The price of the continental breakfast was expensive but we appreciated the complimentary coffee and tea.
