This could be such an amazing place. But the rooms, whilst really nice, are pricey. Bar prices really put you off. But biggest issue whilst we were there were the lifts. Three lifts for guests, two of which weren't working when we arrived. The following morning, the third lift was taken out of use, leaving guests to either walk 5/6 floors up/down the stairs, or use the 'staff' lift; cleaners trying to use this lift, and a complete circus trying to get in/get out. I'd really love this place to put everything right, but wouldn't book again until they have. Sorry!

Liked: The rooms, the layout and 'vibe'. Restaurant/breakfast also very clean and sharp - food very tasty.
Disliked: Snack bar and main bar prices completely extortionate - £25 for a bog-standard bottle of house white being one of many examples. Biggest issue - the lifts!

Great comfortable room perfect for...

Liked: Nice big room with 2 double beds. Bathroom had a lovely nice big showerPlenty of tea & coffee / mugs and towels (didn’t have to ask for extra)
Disliked: Breakfast was nothing exciting.

Comfortable and nicely designed

Liked: Open feeling downstairs and bar are well appointed and nicely designed.
Disliked: Ground to floor windows make you feel a bit exposed and not great if you don’t like heights!

Disliked: Didn’t like the fact that the light switch for the bathroom was just by the front door rather than outside the bathroom itself.Very poor design.

Liked: Excellent everything actually! No complaints whatsoever! We were here for the historical Black Sabbath concert, it was the best choice! Our tickets were a package with the room with Soundtravel. Breakfast was lovely, staff was very helpful & understanding, location was very convenient. Will definitely come again! Thank you!

The Aloft hotel was clean,...

Liked: It was spacious, cool and clean with a lovely hot shower and a comfortable bed. The room was light and airy, quiet and the staff were pleasant. The only issue we had was that we didn't really know the area and kept getting a bit lost on the way to and from the main shopping area, but there were a few friendly people around willing to give us directions. The only thing I regret is not eating in the restaurant or taking advantage of the hotel bar.
Disliked: The view from the window could have been better, but obviously it was quite built up where we were, so that's not really a criticism of the hotel, which we could not fault.

Lovely Staff - Shame about...

Liked: The hotel was only a 30 minute walk from Villa Park. All the staff at breakfast were so polite and helpful. I have to mention Anshika and Maggie, both cheerful, attentive and happy to help. The breakfast offered was also very good, plenty of options and catered to different dietary requirements.
Disliked: The room was not as clean as we would have hoped, pet hair very and other debris very evident on carpet next to bed which was off putting. Room bathroom had the most disgusting smell of raw sewage for our whole stay. As soon as we entered the room when we arrived it was all we could smell and it did not dissipate for the whole weekend. It did make us feel quite queasy. One small bottle of water in the fridge is not very helpful when there are 2 people staying in the room. Especially when we did not feel comfortable using water from the bathroom tap considering the smell.
