Aloft Birmingham Eastside

This could be such an amazing place. But the rooms, whilst really nice, are pricey. Bar prices really put you off. But biggest issue whilst we were there were the lifts. Three lifts for guests, two of which weren't working when we arrived. The following morning, the third lift was taken out of use, leaving guests to either walk 5/6 floors up/down the stairs, or use the 'staff' lift; cleaners trying to use this lift, and a complete circus trying to get in/get out. I'd really love this place to put everything right, but wouldn't book again until they have. Sorry!

Liked: The rooms, the layout and 'vibe'. Restaurant/breakfast also very clean and sharp - food very tasty.
Disliked: Snack bar and main bar prices completely extortionate - £25 for a bog-standard bottle of house white being one of many examples. Biggest issue - the lifts!

Liked: The room spaces, cleanliness of the hotel, staff was on point with what was needed. Convenience of it being close to the Millennium Point
Disliked: On the evening of the 17th, me and 3 others I had booked with got stuck in the lift for nearly an hour. However, I was in contact with the General Manager about it and things have been rectified to ensure no such incident happens again.

Liked: We have just come back from a nights stay here and we all loved it! The staff were very warm and welcoming. I let the hotel know beforehand that it was the birthday of two of the guests i was travelling with and when we arrived in our room they had wrote a message on the mirror and left a birthday desert! Which was a lovely touch. The room was very comfortable and we all had a lovely sleep. I booked to have breakfast with our stay which was also very nice and plenty of stuff to choose from. When i am next in Birmingham i will definitely be staying here again.
Disliked: Couldnt fault anything to be honest

Liked: There were 4 of us staying in a room, we were comfortable and had everything we needed to hand for example a mini fridge and an iron. I requested a fan and the staff brought one to our room within minutes. The location was fantastic and the breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend this place
Disliked: The only thing I can think of is our card wouldn’t open our door after we had been for breakfast but reception were able to rectify this problem
