Liked: This is one of my "go to" hotels. I like the people who work there and I like being mid-town. It's fun and you get decent quality outside of summer when the rates go up everywhere. Pool, hot tub, gym.A recent power surge locally knocked out the settings on the hot tub. It was 106* when we tried to get in and we weren't even able to because of the heat. My wife talked to one of the maintenance personnel and he confirmed that the pre-set temperatures were not correct due to the power surge. Went on to correct it and we had a lovely soak later in the evening.
Disliked: The rates in summer are really high. It doesn't seem like it has anything to do with occupancy. As an Alaska resident and Bonvoi Premier I try to support the narrative and stay where I like to stay but I just can't do it all the time. Give Alaskans a break please. We support you in the winter as well.Also, I accidentally left our vehicle unlocked outside due to error. Likely unhoused folks or homeless if you will. I'm only thinking of them based on what they took. Took what was out in the open. Empty cooler bags as we planned to shop for freezer stuff to take home down the road. A set of sunglasses, a small backpack with suntan lotion and a visor. A collapsible luggage trolley my Mom uses to roll her elderly dog on when in a carrier. Couple blankets, half rack of Twisted Tea, bug spray and some other little stuff. Left more than they took really because there was more in the vehicle. That's totally on me and I take full responsibility because I didn't successfully lock up. But I would warn other folks to make super sure you lock up your vehicle at this hotel. First time it's happened to me in almost 25 years coming and going from Anchorage staying in hotels while shopping to bring groceries home. Parked on the West side of the building, the side with the bank.I really like this hotel. I really dislike being robbed.Josh

hip but not a great...

Liked: The location was nice, they accommodated the dogs which was great! I thought the look of things was funky and very hip!
Disliked: The staff was rude, I confirmed my booking before I arrived since we were driving in, reminded them we had dogs, was told it was a 50.00 extra charge per day. I said no problem, explained I wa bringing two. Told only 50.00 and then upon checking in again told them had two dogs and was told it was 100.00. Explained that was not what I was told on phone, was cut off by staff and then told 100. Told them I didn’t care I just needed a room after the drive and needed the dogs. Then was handed paperwork to fill out. There is no where at check in to fill out paperwork since there is no desk. Then at 2:30 am drunk guest is screaming we tried contacting front desk until almost 5 am and no one answered, got no sleep. Finally just left at 8:30 am. Had to wait and hour to get extra towels. No expiration on how to get to our rooms was just handed keys. Explained I had a car, asked if I needed a parking pass, was told they thought I would be okay since I was only there a day. I’m sad since I convinced my husband to try a different hotel then the Sheriton and this one went so poorly that we I’ll not be coming back. Or recommending to friends.
