Okay
Liked: It was under construction, pool was dirty and couldn’t use. The room was old.

Excellent Sedona B&B
Liked: April was a wonderful hostess. The convenient location to uptown and trails was perfect. The view of coffee pot rock from our balcony was great!!
Disliked: Currently under renovation and pool deck was closed.

A building site - avoid...
Liked: I appreciated the fact that on request the building work that was going on during my stay started at 8 am instead of 7 am the second morning. The breakfast was also very nicely cooked and presented. The rooms are spacious.
Disliked: Where to start. As other guests have noted, this place is in need of a facelift. Unfortunately, it was getting it during my stay, something I was not prepared for as I arrived for a "peaceful" break in Sedona. Both construction and major renovation work were underway. I literally had to duck under scaffolding to get to the reception/dining area where the building was being stripped of stucco and basically rebuilt from the outside. Building debris was all over the place, including directly in the path from my room to the dining area. Building work woke me up at 7 am on the first day. That is totally unacceptable, as is the fact that this place is open at all during such major works, particularly at well over $300 per room. There was an area of the breakfast room ceiling that was sagging and looked frankly unsafe. (The first three pictures below are of the outside part of this reception and dining area.) People working here were polite and friendly and not responsible for this mess, but there were other irritating details such as keys being left out for "late check ins" - I arrived at 4pm. That is not a late check-in. If you don't have a front desk working all day then just say so. Also, the frankly rude sign on a basket of dark towels on the floor in the bedroom (see picture below) was something I really didn't need. That notice - we'll fine you if you dirty our towels - sent a message that was the whole vibe of my stay: guests are a nuisance. Other guests have already commented on the fact that rooms are not serviced other than on request. They should be. Owners of Alma de Sedona: guests are your raison d'etre, not children threatened with the naughty stool: you had better get that front and centre if you want to stay in business. This place is an utter disgrace that ranks with the worst of Fawlty Towers, but minus the jokes.

Disappointed traveller
Liked: Location.
Disliked: Buildings are being remodeled. Lots of scaffolding. Lots and lots of dust. Made me cough. Air tasted dusty. No one advised us of this prior to our coming.

I wish I could’ve stayed...
Liked: I loved the huge rooms and the seclusion of the property. Definitely the quietest place I’ve ever stayed at. Everyone was very friendly! Fantastic breakfast!
Disliked: Nothing.

Passable
Disliked: We stayed three nights and I would have appreciated a small clean up from day to day. At least to empty bins, change towels that we left on the floor and refill of coffee/tea. It’s a basic standard thing I think.

Comfortable Gem in Sedona
Liked: Has an authentic Sedona feel to it. Loved my room had jacuzzi tub and fireplace . Huge room too and frig in room.
Disliked: Little far from many activities . Manager had a lot of rules and was not flexible on breakfast serving time. So I got a bag with a piece of fruit, cliff bar and hard boiled egg three of the four mornings I was there . Really? I paid $1,300 for snacks ? Should be more flexible. Understand that guests want to head out early to do things.
