Liked: Majestic historic property easy walking distance to Hollidaysburg shops and restaurants. Gracious host and great breakfasts.

Historic B&B with Gracious Service

Liked: Historic house dating from the mid 1800’s with many unique touches. For instance the chandeliers in the piano room are converted from gas and you can still spot the tiny gas valves. Our suite on the third floor included a number of window boxes with inner and outer draperies, which appeal to small children as alternate sleeping areas.
Disliked: There is no elevator in this property, so be prepared to size your luggage for a walk up 2 to 4 flights of stairs. And as with any older property maintenance issues are ongoing. In our case the stairwell light was out which complicated our stairwell climb.

Liked: The breakfast was great! The coffee was great!
Disliked: There was no soap in the shower or shampoo and conditioner. The towels are very thin. The air conditioner is too small for the room with such high ceilings. I had it going full blast and it never got to a comfortable temperature. I went in April. I can't imagine how hot the room would be in August.
