Dating from the 18th-century the Allanton is charming coaching inn located in Berwickshire. It has a large garden with countryside views modern bedrooms with luxury furnishings and an elegant restaurant. Rooms at the Allanton Inn are decorated in soft colors and original artwork. Beds are covered in Egyptian cotton sheets and rooms also feature flat-screen TVs and bathrooms with luxurious toiletries. Beautiful wooden tables and polished floors are gently lit by candlelight in the restaurant. It serves fine British cuisine including beef from the family farm West Coast mussels and local wood pigeon. The River Whiteadder offers fantastic salmon and trout fishing and is just a 2-minute walk from the Allanton. Berwick-upon-Tweed on the East Coast is a 15-minute drive away.

A lovely place to stay

Liked: Excellent breakfast. Stayed at Allenton Inn back in 2020 and standard still as high. Friendly staff with warm welcome. Nice quiet room and comfortable bed.Evening meal was beautifully cooked. Compliments to the chef.

Liked: From the minute of arrival till leaving the following morning, the Allanton Inn went above and beyond with anything that they could do to help with the stay ,from staff, service, very friendly and the food was unbelievable. I would seriously consider the 2hour drive to get a chance for another plateful lol. Room was clean, full place is clean, warm and comfy and the beer was even better.. definitely a hidden gem for sure and if a could give more than 10/10 a would.. definitely be there again..
Disliked: There's not a thing that you can't!!!!Wish they were closer to where we travelled from be there more regularly
