Set inside a beautifully preserved historic building, the Alexander Inn blends classic elegance with modern comfort. Located in Philadelphia’s Washington Square West neighborhood, this boutique bed and breakfast puts you within walking distance of the city’s best restaurants, shops, and—most importantly—live music venues. Expect free WiFi, cozy rooms with city views, and thoughtful design touches like stained glass windows, oak moldings, and marble floors.
The Alexander Inn’s central location means many of Philly's top performance spaces are just a short stroll or quick ride away. After the show, return to a quiet, relaxed atmosphere perfect for winding down. While there’s no on-site parking, the hotel offers discounted parking nearby, and late-night public transportation options are easily accessible. With a 3 PM check-in and 11 AM check-out, there’s enough flexibility to suit most show schedules.
While there’s no restaurant on-site, the Inn is surrounded by a vibrant food scene—everything from late-night slices to upscale dining is within an easy walk. The complimentary continental breakfast is a big plus, especially after a late night. Need a caffeine fix before heading out? Coffee and tea are available in the lobby throughout the day.
You're a short walk from some of Philly’s best nightlife, including local bars, jazz lounges, and casual pubs. Whether you’re looking to pre-game or keep the night going post-concert, the neighborhood has you covered. While the hotel itself doesn’t offer live music or a bar, its location more than makes up for it.
Guests rave about the friendly staff, spotless rooms, and the Inn’s unique historical character. Many reviewers highlight the walkable location and the peaceful ambiance that makes for a restful stay after a night out. The city views and charming design details also get frequent shout-outs.
The Alexander Inn doesn’t have on-site parking, which can be a minor inconvenience if you're driving—but the hotel offers discounted rates at a nearby garage, so it’s manageable. Some guests mention the rooms are on the smaller side, but most agree they’re still well-appointed and comfortable.
A perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort, the Alexander Inn is an ideal home base for concert-goers who want to be close to the action but sleep in peace.

Good
Liked: The staff were very nice and helpful. The location is great - walking distance to the main attractions and many restaurants and bars close by.They offered appertivo and breakfast for free which is a lot!
Disliked: The hotel is pretty old. Beds are small and not so comfortable, but they do keep it clean so it's welcoming. Also when we arrived to the room it was very warm because the AC was off.You can't really close the curtains all the way so light came in in the morning.

Would not stay there again...
Liked: The reception desk had a good host Selena, she was engaging and informative.
Disliked: The beds were terrible, springs on the surface mattress in both rooms. The rooms had been sprayed with so much air freshener we had to sleep with the windows open and there is absolutely no sound proofing in the rooms. Large trucks driving down the street actually shook the beds at night.
