Great Location but very run-down...

Liked: Pros: Great Staff always available. Location very central Easy walk to the station. Laundry with a dryer. Bed was ok
Disliked: Cons: very old building, cold corridors, one toilet broken doesn't flush. Not soundproof. No curtains or individual bedlights. Little common area and doesn't feel very safe with some male residents... No wifi

Very good

Liked: The Staff were great. The facilities like the storage was awesome and it was just a really well run place.
Disliked: The facilities in the bathroom were a bit lacking

Very poor

Disliked: Really dirty kitchen facilities, there was rotten food in the cupboards and fridge and flies flying around. The kitchenware that was washed up was left half dirty and had food still stuck to it. The hostel smelled of stale cigarette smoke and urine and the room had a layer of dirt/dust on surfaces and had a bad smell. Showers/toilets were clean enough and bed linen was satisfactory.

Going Home after 45 years...

Liked: Almost everthing i couldn't fault it ideal location ten minutes walk from train station
Disliked: The fact i had a top bunk didnt help my bad back I'm going back to Newcastle in November to find some other relatives I missed

Could be better

Liked: Can't beat the location. Staff was helpful. Beds and room quite clean.
Disliked: The lounge and kitchen could do with cleaning and maintenance. There were no hooks, shampoo and body wash in the shower cubicles, very inconvenient.
