Disliked: That l couldn't check in because l had a local address, l payed for the room on booking.com but when l tried to check-in l was told the system wouldn't let them check me in. They then cancelled my booking so l want a refund

Disliked: Bed was uncomfortable Topper wasn't enough to make it soft. Old mattress

Our stay was average but...

Liked: The king bed was comfortable & staff were friendly
Disliked: The shower had mold and soap scum build up and room wasn’t serviced even when requested. We have previously stayed at the Alara for many years and always commented on how fresh & clean it was. Disappointed that it isn’t the same with this stay.

Liked: Clean, neat and tidy. Central location.
Disliked: Limited facilities. A microwave and kettle only. No toaster, no tea towel or anything to wipe over benches or clean/dry crockery etc. No cupboards in bedroom so no hanging space.

Exceptional

Liked: Very clean, affordable

Liked: Location was great, room was very clean. Aircon good, room layout good. Cold bottled water in the fridge was great.
Disliked: Mattresses were too hard for us. No bowls or plates, (or a knife that could cut). Nothing provided to wipe down surfaces (after making coffee).

Liked: Very clean, staff were polite and accommodating

Liked: Very central to everything. Clean rooms.
Disliked: All good.

Pleasant

Liked: Very clean and comfortable.
Disliked: So much noise from other people staying at the property, constantly opening and closing doors, no sleep due to this reason.
