A special place close to...
Liked: This is a fantastic hotel with a warm and welcoming vibe, the perfect place to explore Hobart on foot. Jimmy and staff ensured our stay was perfect, everything was easy. The communal lounge and bar is great with nice tunes, good coffee and a wide selection of afternoon drinks. We booked four rooms for Dark Mofo and we all agreed it was a wonderful and special place.

Since the hotel was recommended...
Liked: The Alabama is equal parts kitsch and comfortable. The rooms are perfect for travellers to rest and recoup as they explore nipaluna/Hobart. The beds are always incredibly comfortable and the rooms are well appointed with art, heating/cooling, windows and a fridge. The shared bathrooms are always very clean with a hot shower waiting to start your day or wind you down at night. The cafe/bar lounge is a beautiful place to rest or meet for drinks with a balcony to enjoy the air and atmosphere. I love sitting in the sun drenched lounge with a coffee or on the balcony to rest between day and night events. You can get delicious coffee, snacks and drinks, and after hours, water is available for rooms including hot water. The Alabama’s location is exceptional. It’s within walking distance of basically everything and there’s restaurants, shopping and a supermarket steps away. The Alabama has become synonymous with travels to nipaluna/Hobart for me. It has warmth and character while providing all the practical things a larger hotel provides. The staff are exceptional, accommodating & knowledgable. I highly recommend staying here when visiting nipaluna/Hobart.
