Bad
Disliked: Me and my friend arrived very early in the morning, they let us sleep while 8 hours on the lobby (first they wanted us to not wait on the lobby knowing that we are 2 girls and it was 2 am..) Anyway, There were some rooms available but they didn't want to give us one or we had to pay 100 CHF extra.. It was not kind.

It exceeded by expectations
Liked: Very clean room, bathroom was clean and spacious. I asked for a room that doesn't get direct sun, and the receptionist was very kind to give me a room that doesn't get direct sun. The room felt very comfortable from a temperature wise. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good

Good location for concerts at...
Liked: It was not in the center, but I was there for a concert so I was able to walk from and to the venue and for me that was super good. Also it has excellent communication, easy acces by bus and train. The staff was really friendly and everything was spotless. The room was small but comfortable.

Disappointing stay – beautiful spa...
Liked: I really enjoyed the SPA – it was beautifully designed, and the facilities were clean and easily accessible. There was a great variety of wellness options: Turkish bath, solarium, a silent relaxation room, rooftop areas with sunbeds, and several types of saunas offering a nice view. I visited in summer, and the experience was truly pleasant. Also, the hotel is conveniently located near Altstetten train station.
Disliked: I was honestly very disappointed with the room – it was incredibly small, especially for the price I paid. I’ve stayed in many hotels in Zürich, and this was not up to standard. The air conditioning was running loudly all night, and when I called reception to report the issue, I was told that it was the same in every room and couldn’t be fixed. I was feeling very cold.I requested an iron at 4 PM and it arrived 15 minutes later. I also tried contacting staff via WhatsApp, but no one answered until my third attempt. There was no room service, no breakfast in bed, not even a simple coffee in the morning (not referring to the complimentary one in the room). Honestly, one of the main reasons I booked a four-star hotel in Zürich was for comfort and convenience – both of which were severely lacking.Unless they upgrade their services to truly match the level of a four-star hotel (including proper room service, better responsiveness, and more efficient service), I will definitely not return.

Good location clean but VERY...
Liked: Warm welcome at the reception, my room was clean. Was nice for a first time stay to get a hand written welcome note and a Toblerone Chocolate bar plus a bottle of water.
Disliked: My room was super super COLD!!! I was frozen, Which made my stay very uncomfortable. I didn’t understand why the Hotel corridors were warmer than the room. I mean a room temperature like you have it at home is understandable no one expects the rooms to be overly warm , mind you it’s not yet summer. I had to go down to the reception and let them know if they could adjust my temperature in the room because it was freezing. Funny, I met a guy at the reception who went down for the same complaint and I thought glad it’s not just me. They gave us both heaters to take to our rooms. Heated my room and in 30min I had a normal room temperature and turned the heater off and then again in the morning when I woke up. I fail to understand why Hotels nowadays are ventilating the rooms so cold it’s very uncomfortable. My boyfriend often got sick after search a stay. Because it’s just not cosy in the rooms and the prices are less for this. Please Mercure adjust your temperatures in the rooms to cosy.Nice and clean Hotel but for this am doubting I’ll be back.
