Disappointing
Disliked: Unaware that we would hv to use a shared facility bathroom with other guests and the shower was cold. bathrooms needed to be cleaned to a higher standard. The room had only 2 single beds no other furniture no tv, no towels. We had to walk thru a sub standard lounge room with grubby carpet.

Liked: Closeness to the park and fly
Disliked: The first room we got the sliding door to the patio didn’t even lock. I requested a second room which we got and it was filthy. Smelt like dirty carpet, hair on the floor in the bathroom, no body wash (containers were empty). There was mould in the bathroom, mirrors were dirty and the shower was filthy. Drains need to be cleaned as the water was not draining away

Got what I wanted, and...
Liked: Location and value for money were second to none
Disliked: Old acccommodation. In need of some TLC. Front desk was consistently understaffed. Check in process took too long. Was given a chit for “free” shuttle but no further direction. It never showed up so had to Uber.

The stay was nice and...
Liked: The front desk staff were friendly, the room was nice and clean.
Disliked: There was an poo kind of odour coming from outside on the deck. The deck wasn't very safe as there are boards that move when walking on them. There was a gurgling sound constantly coming from the shower drain that we could hear all night in our room.

Liked: Reception customer service: the gentlemen were kind, considerate and tried to remain attentive and not 'try to ignore your presence' especially when a whole group of tourists just bombarded the foyer. The receptionist seemed to work quite well to remind me that they hadn't forgotten i was not part of the 'bus group'.
Disliked: The room: Deluxe King room partially serviced. Day 1 for example: the bedroom floor was really dusty and there was a large patch of carpet soaked wet (my socks would get wet every time i walked over it accidently). when i misplaced my key, it was shocking to see how much the carpet beneath the bed was not vacuumed, what looked like to be more than a 1 months or so. Corridor carpets too were very dusty and had an over-dosed carpet spray smell to it. All bench/desk - tops in the room were not wiped, the fridge was not wiped clean too. :(. The cupboard space that the fridge was inside of also was caked with dust towards the back portion of the fridge. The menu card was overly used and had mould streaks all over it. Overall, i was convinced that that was the highest form of cleanliness the rooms could ever get, so i used antibacterial wipes to do my own cleansing of most surfaces including TV remote and room-landline phone. The wipes were thoroughly soiled and I was just glad that most of my stay was just to sleep at night but work away from Gateway at sunrise. Day 2 onwards: Towels regularly replaced, 'new towels' would have a weird storage smell.Not sure if this was a sincere accident to clean the room thoroughly , but it wasn't worth the cost of over $1100. No one needs to be fired here, just needs a bit more encouragement to not miss hygiene in room servicing particularly with surface wiping and carpet vacuuming.
