Our bad experience at hotel...

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: We arrived late on 16.07.2025, exhausted after a long journey and eager to settle into the Deluxe Room we’d booked four nights in advance. The website’s glossy photos had promised spotless surfaces and tasteful decor, but stepping inside revealed hairs in the bathroom, dust on lamps, the TV remote and other surfaces, and a stale, suffocating odour like an unventilated museum exhibit. With no air conditioning or even a simple fan, we were forced to open the window, only to face a logistical courtyard with a trash bin and staff talking loudly until about 4 a.m. The thin mattress dipped uncomfortably on one side, and the advertised “fast” Wi‑Fi crawled at around 2 Mbps, barely enough to send a complaint email. Opening the window for air sacrificed all privacy since neighbouring rooms had a clear view inside, and the semi‑transparent bathroom door’s broken lock left us vulnerable at our most private moments. We eventually squeezed in six restless hours of sleep, walking up at 12 pm, thirteen hours after check‑in, and knew we couldn’t stay another night. In daylight we spoke with a staff member (let’s call him Jim to protect his anonymity), who documented the dirt, arranged a lock repair and reached out to management on our behalf. We also contacted Booking.com, only to be told the owner wasn’t willing to resolve the situation peacefully. Jim tried calling her too, and we asked for her number so we could speak directly. After repeated attempts, the owner finally picked up. She insisted we were the first ever to complain (This is false - see other reviews), blamed seasonal dust and outside noise, and scolded us for not reporting immediately, even though there was no reception at night and problems unfolded through the early hours. She lectured that anyone expecting a five‑star stay should book a five‑star hotel at a higher rate, demanded compensation for her time, and then hung up.
