Great people, great vibe, nothing...

Liked: The place was a vibe. Great to meet people, and the staff for the most part are really lovely and go out their way to help you. Also in a great location!
Disliked: There was 3 showers & 3 toilets & a tiny kitchen for 50 people. If you book a private room with a shared bathroom, you're right on the public balcony where people can be up drinking till 7am, or up to start drinking at 11am. The air conditioning couldn't be turned off in my room and sounded like a vaccum cleaner. The wifi simply did not work, nor extend to my room which as a digital nomad created a bit of chaos in my life as I had to find accomodation with wifi for meetings for work (I live in the UK, so those meetings were often after 11pm). After asking politely if they could move further down the balcony, one guy really kicked off with me. Was pretty raging to find out later in my stay he was a staff member who was staying in the private quiet zone.If it wasn't for the fact every other staff member was lush, and the people in the hostel were for the most part great, I would have given this a rating of 1.

Terrible

Disliked: Old, run down, noisy, poorly maintained. The room had a dodgy lock on the door, the light in the bathroom didn’t work, the carpets were worn through, the lampshade was falling off and was covered in dust, the whole place needed a paint.

Great staff but the hostel...

Liked: The staff were great
Disliked: The room was terrible. The bathroom door wouldn't close and the room was damp. Basic things seem to be missed such as towel hooks or rails and tv remotes.

Yeah nah.

Liked: The man on the desk was polite at check in.
Disliked: All around dirty. The building interior seemed like it was falling apart. The bedsheets smelled like they were smoking 40 a day.

Good

Liked: Location was incredible. Easy access to public transport (bues and trams). Easy walking distance to the botanical gardens and market. Accommodation was nothing flashy but exactly what we paid for. Great staff.
