I was very disappointed with...
Liked: Staff were friendly, informative, helpful
Disliked: The room was tiny, unkempt with sad heavily used towels and bedding. The room was right near front desk so I could hear in the lobby day and night, and the accommodations and facility were not what the pictures showed on the website or ad. The neighborhood was scary with unhoused individuals screaming outside the window all day and night. I could have gotten a nice clean safe hotel for the amount I paid for this room.

Very good
Liked: For American standards of hostels, I think this one is pretty good. The beds have privacy curtains and the lockers underneath the beds were big enough to store all of my bags and luggage (need to bring your own lock). The location is good if you want to be close to downtown SF and Union Square. It’s situated in a better area of Tenderloin where you will see some homeless people, but not as much as the worst part of Tenderloin where the sidewalks are lined with them. They’re generally harmless anyways.WiFi was good, and beds had power outlets. My outlets were pretty loose but still worked to charge my phone. Bedrooms have a lock on the door, which depends on whether you and your roommates want to use it. Coin laundry and kitchen are available as well.
Disliked: Facilities were fine but some stuff didn’t work during my stay, like the light in my bed or sink in the bedroom, which wasn’t too big of a deal anyways. No towels provided. Showers don’t have soap or shampoo, and so you’ll have to bring your own or buy them at a nearby store, like the Target within walking distance that sells travel-sized toiletries.
