The Spotlight on Acadia Gateway Motel

Simple Comfort Close to the Sounds of Bar Harbor

Just under 20 minutes from both Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbor, Acadia Gateway Motel offers a no-frills, comfortable stay in Trenton, ME. With classic motel charm and essential amenities like air-conditioned rooms, cable TV, and optional microwaves and mini-fridges, this spot is a solid base for concert-goers who want to explore both nature and nightlife without breaking the bank.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is key—this motel puts you within a short drive to venues and entertainment in Bar Harbor while giving you a quieter place to crash after the show. The reception is open until 10:00 PM, which is handy for late arrivals, and the setting is peaceful for those wanting to unplug after a loud night out. Plus, it’s just a short walk to local attractions like Wild Acadia Fun Park if you’re looking to fill your day before the gig.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for affordable rooms near the action
  • Solo travelers catching a bucket-list show in Bar Harbor
  • Couples wanting a weekend nature/concert combo
  • Fans seeking a quiet spot to recover after the music ends
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who prefer to save on lodging

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant, you’re not far from tasty options. Real Pit BBQ is just across the street for a smoky, satisfying bite after a show. For something a bit more upscale, Cleonice Mediterranean Bistro is about 4 miles away. Coffee makers in every room help with those post-show mornings, and local breakfast spots are a short drive away.

Nightlife Options

You won’t find live music or a bar on the property, but a quick drive into Bar Harbor opens up a range of nightlife—from cozy pubs to waterfront bars with local brews. It's the kind of place where you can enjoy the music scene, then retreat to a peaceful night’s sleep.

What People Say

Guests appreciate the motel’s clean rooms, friendly staff, and convenient location near both the park and concert spots. Many note the value for money, especially for travelers who don't need all the bells and whistles. The easy parking and quiet atmosphere get repeated praise.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are basic and some guests mention that the decor is dated. There’s no on-site breakfast or bar, and check-out is a bit early at 10:00 AM—something to plan around if you’ve had a late night out.

The Bottom Line

Acadia Gateway Motel is a simple, affordable stay that gives concert-goers easy access to Bar Harbor’s music scene with the bonus of a quiet, comfortable night’s rest.

Decent little cabins for a...

Liked: Clean little cabins and friendly staff. Owner tries to be welcoming and accomodating with his flags, LOL. So if you're Indian, for example, he'll display an Indian flag for your arrival. We noticed how he kept changing the flags.
Disliked: Only negative is that you can hear cars passing by on the highway at night, but not too loud as to disturb sleep.

Superb

Liked: Excellent location to visit the area if you are driven. Much quieter and good quality-price ratio as compared to busy Bar Harbor. Friendly staff.
Disliked: The complimentary breakfast of donuts and coffe is fine, since there is no dining room in the facility, but it would be nice to have a proper breakfast included

It was wonderful to spend...

Liked: The owner was friendly and shared some great local recommendations. Our room was not only clean, but it also offered fantastic value for the price. Although it was a 25-minute drive to the center of Acadia National Park, we were grateful to save more than half the cost compared to staying in Bar Harbor during the busy holiday week. It truly made our trip more enjoyable without breaking the bank.
Disliked: The shower is a bit tight to move around in, but you get what you pay for.

Fantastic place to stay when...

Liked: Great, clean and spacious room. It’s very close (15 away) from Acadia Nat Park. The owner, Casey, who is a super nice guy, offers free tea, coffee and donuts as a morning snack.Highly recommended!
