AC Hotel by Marriott San Jose Downtown

I'd stay here again. It was a quiet location with few people on the streets. We went to a concert at the San Jose Civic Auditorium and it was about a mile away so we walked a quiet, peaceful walk there and back. Prices for the hotel were high because extras like parking are not mentioned until later.

Liked: Hotel was clean, attractive and the staff was pleasant. Wonderful Italian restaurant in walking distance!
Disliked: Room was attractive but very small. Only place for one suitcase if you wanted to open the case - no suitcase stand.

The morning cup of coffee...

Liked: Enjoyed the available coffee in the lobby for guests who don’t want to use the coffee maker in the room.
Disliked: My arrival was late, and their parking structure required hotel guests to park on the 5th floor. Unfortunately, I had to roll my bag down the ramp because they disable the elevators at a particular time (should be noted on hotel page).

Disliked: The service we received was horrible. They made my wife run around over parking. We checked in last night told parking was $30 ok.The receptionist told me it was cheaper with them, and I'm thinking great. Received the bill still $30. So my wife leaves and when she gets the exit it asks her to pay. Why are we paying if you already charged us. She had to get off and go inside and no one told her she needed to validate it. A big mess and waste of time. Worst customer service

The hotel was good, but...

Liked: The hotel is well located to San Jose transport and attractions, the room was quiet and comfortable. There was laundry facilities on the floor along with filtered water available - nice touch.
Disliked: The continental breakfast selections were a bit limited, one of the bath towels in my room smelled stale and had makeup on it. The parking lot is convenient but if you arrive late at night, the elevator isn't available and you have to walk five flights of stairs alone - not the worst thing but also not a great option - just a bit of a personal safety concern.
