AC Hotel by Marriott Old Montreal

Disappointing stay.

Liked: The property was clean.
Disliked: I booked two rooms that included free breakfast. There was no breakfast due to renovations and the only thing I got were some cards to use at Van Houtts which were promptly refused. The staff had no ability to rectify this only make note of it. In the meantime I was penalized for a change of chain name and had to pay for both rooms that included breakfast on top of spending more money for breakfast for my family for the three days I stayed there.

VERY NOISY AND WAY OVERPRICED

Disliked: HALF THE HOTEL IS SO NOISY!!!! We stayed two days in a close by yet cheaper place and it was WAY BETTER (Mercer Boutique Hotel) Beware if you are in an odd numbered room at this hotel. That whole side faces an alley that is very noisy and over a parking garage with lots of noise, all day and night with trucks, cars, deliveries, etc. It helped a bit to be on a higher floor but half the hotel is VERY NOISY and wakes you up at night and early in the morning. The door to the bathroom is not a normal door, just a panel that slides on a railing in front of the toilet so it is not really closed and it is NOT PRIVATE when you are on the toilet. Also, much is still under construction and many things were not in working condition or closed like the restaurant and the water/ice dispenser. The heat / air conditioner is through the wall to outside and very noisy as well. Everything was redone in an extremely cheap manner.

Liked: The location was fabulous, the staff were all friendly and helpful.The room was large and comfortable.
Disliked: The room was a little dated and there was very little wardrobe space.

Great location but breakfast is...

Liked: The breakfast has gone down hill in my humble opinion, so we only got coffee and or juice, then headed to the waterfront for a true Montreal breakfast. I wish there was a price option excluding breakfast so the room price would go down by 20-60 $.
Disliked: That breakfast was included

Never again, I better sleep...

Disliked: Firstly, the reception can’t understand English properly. I understand it’s French province but if we are talking about hospitality sector, they have to be able understand English as well. I wasn’t informed during reservation that I have to pay by credit card and they denied my wish to pay by debit. I mean, why it does matter to you? I pay, you receive money. Why do you care?When we enter to the room, the bedskirt was dirty I’m not sure if it was blood stained or smth else. The bed was really very much uncomfortable. Alas, we needed internet connection for both television and our devices. I called reception and I was being told “it’s gonna be fixed in 10 mins” after 10 mins my husband called them, they told him “it’s fixed”. But actually it wasn’t! After all, we called for the last time and their answer was “we can’t do anything right now you have to wait till morning”. No apologies, no complementaries nothing. Rude as hell! I know Marriott hotel chain very well all over the world and this is the first time I’m that much disappointed.
