AC Hotel by Marriott Marseille Prado Velodrome

Extremely unpleasant!

Liked: Emma supervisor and Alex restaurant staff were lovely. However, Romain night staff was extremely rude and unprofessional!
Disliked: Romain night staff was extremely rude and unprofessional, so much so we would never go back and would not recommend this hotel! He also put us in rooms that was full of mould!

Great stay, staff was awesome,...

Liked: Nice property located right next to famous soccer stadium. Has a nice shopping mall right next to it. The room was clean and they included drinks in the mini fridge for free which was very nice.
Disliked: It’s definitely not a four star I would be it three. The rugs in the hallway were stained, the rooms were nice but not excellent. The area is nice but far away from the old port and vieux port. But if you wanna stay by the stadium it’s your best bet.

Disliked: We stayed at your hotel on July 21st. A deposit of 219 euros was taken from our card. Part of it was spent on accommodation, the rest was promised to be returned to us, but it has not been returned to us yet.

Convenient hotel in the Prado...

Liked: This hotel has an ideal location relative to the Marseille-Chanot convention Centre, which was the reason I went to Marseille (conference). It is also adjacent to a shopping centre, a metro station, and, of course, the Orange stadium (home of the Olimpique) so if you are into sports, you are in luck. The hotel has parking (limited number of places, need to book in advance) for a reasonable daily price. The staff members were helpful and polite at all times. The cleaners deserve special congratulations for friendliness; trying tom understand my broken French and when necessary willing to attempt English. The air conditioner in the room was great despite my visit coinciding with a serious heat wave. The shower was also strong.
Disliked: Maybe I was just unlucky but there were very noisy guests in my floor that kept screaming after midnight. The breakfast was OK, but you need to avoid the busy times when the staff can't keep up with the demand. I happened to try to go there when a large excursion group was trying to have breakfast together, and it was pretty bad. Bad like, people having to eat standing bad. Went back to the room and waited for the storm to pass.But the biggest issue was the gym. It was almost funny. It is a container with machines made out of wood. Tor example the treadmill was a not motorised so felt like an item from the Flintstones. And the air conditioner was always switched off. I try to choose hotels that have gyms, for early morning workouts, but in this one I had to give my routine a miss.
