Friendly, convenient, and accommodating.

Liked: It was conveniently located in East Village, walking distance to the capital and many local restaurants and bars. Every staff we encountered were very friendly. We really enjoyed the Republic restaurant and bar on the sixth floor. Good food, and great variety of drinks. Even got a glimpse of fireworks in the background. They also had shuttle to the state fair, which is what brought us to Des Moines. The lavender sachets offered in the lobby were a nice extra touch. First class.

Liked: The rooms were very clean and the area where we stayed was close to plenty of food and shopping options. The staff was helpful and accommodating.
Disliked: Parking is $30 a day if you choose to park on site, which is pretty expensive especially considering that the parking options surrounding the hotel are minimal. We were also given a $250 “miscellaneous charge” at check-out that none of the staff that I have called since can explain and that management still hasn’t reached out to clarify.
