The Spotlight on Abigail's Hotel

Charming Heritage Stay Close to the Music

Modern hotels are great, but sometimes you're after something with soul. Abigail's Hotel delivers just that—a beautifully restored 1930s mansion with historic décor and adult-only tranquility. Nestled in a quiet corner of downtown Victoria, it's just a short walk or cab ride from popular music venues and the Inner Harbour. This boutique-style inn blends character, comfort, and personalized service, perfect for travelers who want more than just a place to crash.

Why Concert-goers love it

With venues like the Royal Theatre and Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre within a 15-minute walk, getting to your show couldn’t be easier. After the encore, return to a peaceful, adult-only environment—no late-night hallway noise here. The 3:00 PM check-in and 11:00 AM check-out times are ideal for those on a concert schedule, and the staff is known for being super accommodating if you're arriving a bit late or sleeping in.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Couples making a romantic weekend out of a concert night
- Solo travelers looking for a quiet, elegant place to unwind
- Fans who want a restful post-show recovery spot
- Small groups of friends seeking a more refined atmosphere
- Budget-conscious music lovers who still want boutique charm (especially with breakfast included!)

Food and Drink Options

Start your day with a gourmet breakfast served fresh every morning—perfect for recharging after a late night. While there’s no on-site restaurant open late, the hotel is within walking distance of Victoria’s downtown eateries, many of which serve food well past 10 PM. Although there's no 24/7 room service, the friendly staff can recommend nearby spots that deliver.

Nightlife Options

While Abigail's keeps things serene onsite, you're only minutes from downtown Victoria's bustling nightlife. Enjoy pre-show drinks at cozy pubs, or discover intimate venues offering local craft brews and live music. Afterward, retreat to the hotel’s library lounge for a wind-down with a book or board game.

What People Say

Guests rave about the personalized service, peaceful atmosphere, and beautiful antique furnishings. Reviewers frequently mention the delicious breakfast and how the hotel feels like a “home away from home.” Many solo and couple travelers love the quiet, adult-only setting after a lively night out.

Areas for Improvement

One thing to note: there’s no elevator, and rooms are only accessible by stairs—something to consider if you're carrying heavy gear. Also, while beautifully decorated, some rooms may feel a bit snug for those used to modern hotel layouts.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers seeking a peaceful, upscale stay with historic charm and walkable access to Victoria’s top music venues, Abigail's Hotel hits all the right notes.

Liked: A beautiful central hotel in the city, ideal for walking. It's a charming building with well-maintained grounds, tucked away on a quiet street. We only spent one night here, but staff were very friendly and the room was lovely. The breakfast service was excellent!

Wonderful B&B

Liked: We were in the Foxglove room for 4 nights, which was very comfortable with a huge bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. For breakfasts were filling and delicious. They made modifications to accommodate our dietary (vegan) restrictions, as well. The location is a couple of blocks from downtown Victoria in a quiet residential neighborhood.
Disliked: One minor thing. Some of the breakfast servers didn't seem to know what "vegan" means in terms of eating, so we explained that it means not eating animal products or anything made with animal products, including dairy (cow's milk, butter, yogurt, cheese) and eggs. However, they were very accommodating after we explained it to them.

A quiet & serene boutique...

Liked: Everything was incredible!
Disliked: The only complaint I had was that some GPS navigation will take you down the wrong street and gave us some trouble when ordering rideshares. I had no trouble finding it myself, though!
