Clean and comfortable
Liked: We really enjoyed our stay, the accommodation was lovely and clean, comfortable and convenient. We had dinner there that evening which was ok ( think we should have ordered the pizza as looked like their signature dish)
Disliked: We were very disappointed to find out that although breakfast was advertised and breakfast menus were on show ( there wasn't any)So we went searching Abermain high and low for a coffee next morning and a local said that the only place we were going to get one was Ridgey Didge pies.We had to drive to Cessnock and 1hr wait for breakfast with children 😔

Gorgeous building and boutique feel
Liked: The hotel is a beautiful old building, full of character and I can tell a lot of work has gone into creating a really boutique feel. Having a little shared kitchen area is a great idea. The showers are hot and plenty of pressure and the soap smells good! The place was quiet and the owner was really friendly. Abermain itself is REALLY small so the hotel is somewhat of a community hub having a bar, cafe, restaurant and barbers as well as the accommodation.
Disliked: Personally, I found the beds a little soft (for me). There were a few bits of maintenance that wouldn't take that long but would make a big difference. There is a balcony that's being held up with three props - not surprised - the hotel was built in 1905 but it was sad to see (but would cost a LOT of money to fix I suspect)
