Aberdeen Douglas Hotel, Aberdeen

Liked: Everything about the hotel was excellent - the lovely entrance area; well appointed room with everything thought of for the traveller, even an iron and board! The bed was large and very comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely amazing - the most generous spread we have ever seen in any B&B situation! The staff were all bright, cheerful, helpful and very professional. We highly recommend this hotel.
Disliked: Very limited car parking and difficult to stop outside. We parked overnight in a car park recommended a 5 minute walk away, for which the hotel gave us a 20% discount card. From 7.30 p.m. to 11 a.m. the next day the cost was ÂÂ£11.40.

A lovely, comfortable overnight stay.

Liked: Lovely welcome on arrival, complimentary upgrade for my husbands 50th birthday was a lovely touch. Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Love that we could access a range of pubs without leaving the building and the live music event was a real added bonus. Room (suite) was clean, spacious and comfortable. Perfect central location for shopping, bars etc. Excellent buffet breakfast and loved the more sociable breakfast and checkout times - finally a hotel that understands that you don’t want breakfast and chucked out by 10am on a Sunday!!
Disliked: Our only niggle would be the lack of real ale available. Only two pubs had one real ale option (belhaven best in Malones and Caledonia best in Molly’s Bistro) and both tasted off and were undrinkable. There were Lager and fruity craft beers a plenty but cater more for a younger drinker.

stay was fine, no drinking...

Liked: Room was fine, knew it was going to be outdated but overall fine. Location was great for my needs. Easy check in and check out.
Disliked: No AC in the rooms. Had to sleep with the windows open and was kept up all night by the constant music below from the Malones bar. Did not have a communal coffee nor a place to fill water, purchase water and other drinks, or get ice.

Would recommend for location unsure...

Liked: Great location, staff were friendly and great with my niece. Room and downstairs were clean, as was the bathroom. Bar was nice and decent priced.
Disliked: Bed was very squeaky waking my niece up if I moved, the noise from outside was very loud, my guess with being old windows it’s something to expect but it was overly noisy, maybe just where our room was located. The lift was very slow but at least it works unlike some places.
