Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself is more about quiet comfort than wild nights, it’s close enough to Swansea for you to explore its bustling pubs and bars before heading back to the calm of Abercraf. The on-site bar is a great place to unwind with a local pint and swap stories about the show.

What People Say

Guests praise the friendly hosts, clean rooms, and peaceful surroundings. Many appreciate the great value and the B&B’s charm. It’s often described as a lovely alternative to busier city stays, especially when you want to decompress after a concert.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the location is a bit remote, so having a car is recommended. Also, while the inn doesn’t have luxury extras, it delivers solid comfort and hospitality.

Reasonably priced but room was...

Liked: Restaurant was quite busy, nice pub food and a good point of beer. Staff seemed quite friendly
Disliked: The rooms was a little tired. The bathroom needed a good clean and the mould sorting out. The shower was absolutely hopeless, no pressure and very little water. The toilet is a macerator and is very noisy, so don't plan on a quiet visit to the toilet in the middle of the night... :)

Good pub. Basic accomodation.

Liked: The pub was good and the food was great.
Disliked: Two pints of beer were off and the shower in one room was great, but in the other it was rubbish.

Great location,great food and great...

Liked: Lovely pub in a beautiful location ,food was excellent and staff were welcoming friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable. Parking available . Left some clothes in the wardrobe and the pub has arranged to get them posted to my home address with no hassle.
Disliked: Steep stairs to bedroom (to be expected in a pub but my knees protested a bit!)

The staff were mostly new...

Liked: The staff tried hard and were obliging. The hotel is any an attractive location.
Disliked: The room wasn't ready when we arrived but we were early so went for a walk. Still not ready when we got back and we were given a free drink. When we eventually got in our room it was clean but hadn't been re stocked, ie no toilet paper, milk etc.We had to ask twice for toilet roll. We were given another free drink with our meal which was passable, but even then our order wasn't quite right.

would have been great with...

Liked: it’s great apart from no hot water so very cold shower wasn’t the best and will stick with Travelodge / Premier Inn as we have done approx 8 weekends per year for the last 10 years and always had hot water
Disliked: very cold shower

Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Ridiculously overpriced for what it...

Liked: Looks good from the outside and it is close to some attractions that we visit
Disliked: Check in starts at 15:00 , we arrived shortly after 16:00 and been told to wait so they can check if the room was ready for us. About 5 minutes or so later we have been taken to our room that had dirty carpets, cobwebs, black mould, ripped wallpaper, noisy tap , filthy furniture and no toilet paper. We had to ask for the WiFi password that wasn’t provided with the information in the room and the signal is very weak in the room. Although they say on the website that they offer breakfast when asked about it they said that the occupation is very low so they don’t offer it and they open at 12:00 when check out time is before 11:00.

Passable

Liked: Comfortable bed and nice thick carpet in the bedroom. The meal in the evening was outstanding.
Disliked: Contrary to the impression given by the Booking.com portal, the room had not been paid for in advance so we had to pay on arrival. The breakfast had to be paid for the evening before and gave the impression of having been prepared the evening before. This impression reinforced by the fact that whilst poached eggs were on the menu, they could not be provided (who can't poach an egg?).The shower was showing its age.
