The Spotlight on Abel Heywood Boutique Hotel

Stylish Comfort in Manchester’s Northern Quarter

Modern and full of character, Abel Heywood Boutique Hotel sits right in the heart of Manchester’s vibrant Northern Quarter. With a cool, urban vibe and a prime location just a short stroll from shops, venues, and nightlife, this boutique stay blends comfort, convenience, and a touch of local charm. Expect sleek, en-suite rooms with tea and coffee making facilities, air-conditioning, and free WiFi – everything you need for a laid-back city break.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re less than a 10-minute walk from the Manchester Arena, making this hotel a top pick for gig nights. Guests love the quiet, restful rooms despite being in the middle of the action. The 2pm check-in time gives you plenty of time to arrive and get ready at your own pace, and there are plenty of late-night transport options nearby to get you back post-show. The on-site bar means you don't have to venture far for a nightcap either.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a stylish base to explore Manchester's music scene
- Solo travelers chasing a dream gig
- Couples planning a romantic concert weekend
- Fans who want a quieter space to unwind after the show
- Budget-conscious music lovers wanting quality without the splurge

Food and Drink Options

Hungry after the encore? The hotel restaurant serves up lunch and dinner daily, with options to suit most dietary needs. You’ll also find a cosy pub-style bar on-site, perfect for a pre-show pint or post-gig recap. While 24/7 room service isn’t available, the central location means late-night eats are just a short walk away. And yes – breakfast is served, even if you’ve had a late one the night before.

Nightlife Options

Being in the Northern Quarter means you’re surrounded by some of Manchester’s best nightlife. From indie bars and craft beer spots to laid-back lounges and live music pubs, you’re spoiled for choice. The hotel’s own bar is a great place to start your night or wind down after the show.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s prime location and friendly staff. Many highlight how easy it is to walk to venues, shops, and restaurants. Reviews praise the clean, comfortable rooms and the overall boutique charm. The on-site pub also gets a lot of love for its warm atmosphere and good drinks selection.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms can feel a little compact if you’re bringing a lot of gear, and while there’s no on-site parking, public transport and nearby car parks make up for it. Some guests mention a bit of street noise – but hey, that’s part of the city centre buzz!

The Bottom Line

If you’re heading to Manchester for a concert, Abel Heywood Boutique Hotel offers the perfect blend of location, style, and comfort for a music-filled weekend.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Karen T, Hemel Hempstead, visiting Co-op Live Manchester Fri, 7 June 2024

Hotel situated close to trams, which made it easy to reach Co-op Arena and Piccadilly station. Standard of hotel not great. Dusty bedroom and broken electric reader which meant we had no lights.

Liked: Food in the bar and breakfast.
Disliked: Reception staff not very welcoming. Bedroom was dusty. Issue with broken electrics in the bedroom which meant we had no lights overnight and morning which proved difficult when using en-suite facilities. Also not informed how to access the hotel on return from the performance.
