Absolutely delightful

Liked: Wonderful hosts, and exceptional choice and quality of breakfast; it makes a nice change to have so many healthy options ( as well as a great full English) to choose from - especially ones that are so delicious and well prepared. A beautiful, much loved Victorian house, with quirky decor, which was large, super comfortable and homely. Impeccably clean throughout. The room was extremely comfortable, with lovely, quality decor, very comfortable bed and cotton bedding. The Room was well stocked with tea/ coffee/ biscuits, and fresh milk and water ( in a sweet mini fridge)- and lots of extras were available to help ourselves to if we ran out of anything at all. Excellent free wi- fi. We didn’t have a problem parking on the property over 2 days - but if we’d needed to use the road, that would have been fine too, as the hosts just give you a voucher to display. The property was a 10 -15 minute walk to the town, along the seafront; we particularly enjoyed eating at The Magpie seafood restaurant, which was fairly close. Book up or get there early, as it’s very popular! Whitby was a quirky, unique place, and a visit to the Abbey and churchyard that overlooks it us a must ( get the hop on / off bus if you want to avoid the 199 steps up
Disliked: Our room was in the top of the house, and I found it rather hot, even though there was a fan. If you suffer from hot flushes( as I do), it would be worth requesting a room lower down in the house.
