A Cambridge House Inn

An excellent older Victorian home on Massachusettes Avenue in Cambridge about 1 1/2 miles from Harvard Square. The staff was very attentive upon arrival. The room was plush with details reminiscent of it's time. A beautiful four poster queen sized bed in the center of the room was extremely comfortable. The room itself was well decorated and felt very homey.

Liked: Excellent staff; great four poster queen bed.
Disliked: Gas fire place in room was not operating.

Great location and affordable, quiet,...

Liked: Room was very large, and was very quiet too. Great location, affordable price. Building has key fob lock on the outside, and then each room has an individual lock so it is a very safe and secure building. Overall great place to stay.
Disliked: Water pressure in the bathroom sink/shower was not that great.

Good

Comfortable but unremarkable

Liked: Very comfortable bed. Clean room. Functional. Close to Davis, good T connections. Awesome air conditioning.
Disliked: Rude staff (and not in a brusque NE way, just regular old rude). Only had one key to our room because previous guest lost the other one... it did not make me feel very safe knowing that someone else out there had our key with no other way to lock the door, although it ended up being fine.

Boston Trip

Liked: Offscreen parking, period house with retained features, east walk to recline metro, Cambridge is a good area, Good local shopping.
Disliked: Not much

It was wonderful and comfortable

Liked: The location is very good, it is near the bus station (1 min walking), and also near the train station (10 min walk), also there is a market and restaurants near to it (one of them is just facing it that you may find everything, and opens till 10:00 PM

Do not stay at this...

Liked: The location is relatively good.
Disliked: The room didn't have a refrigerator, it was dirty and old, smelling mold, the air conditioning had a dirty filter, the window view was a set of garbage cans, no elevator, dirty carpets and no cleaning service available.

Pleasant, functional, and conveniently located...

Liked: I stayed in a contemporary room on the ground floor of the annex (house beside the main inn). Nice sized room with comfortable bed and functioning wall-mounted AC unit that kept the room pleasant during a hot few days. WiFi worked well. Common area was also pleasant with free coffee and tea and nice seating area.
Disliked: The toiletries provided could have been of a better quality (very small, cheap bottles). No breakfast available, but the farm shop across the road makes excellent breakfast sandwiches, and the common area of the inn with free coffee makes for a nice breakfast room.
