An excellent older Victorian home on Massachusettes Avenue in Cambridge about 1 1/2 miles from Harvard Square. The staff was very attentive upon arrival. The room was plush with details reminiscent of it's time. A beautiful four poster queen sized bed in the center of the room was extremely comfortable. The room itself was well decorated and felt very homey.

Liked: Excellent staff; great four poster queen bed.
Disliked: Gas fire place in room was not operating.

If you are looking for...

Liked: It was very close to Davis Square which is where we needed to be.
Disliked: The TV did not work, the room was very small, the door to the bathroom was a folding door that did not close, the WiFi did not always work, parking lots are tiny. I had to do a 19-point turn to leave in the morning since someone was parked right behind me.

Always happy to stay here.

Liked: I love the convenient location and off street parking. I have stayed here several times.
Disliked: Not all the rooms have a small refrigerator. However, ice is available at both the seven/eleven and Pemberton Farms across the street, if one brings a cooler.

Great location

Liked: Great location along Mass Ave. 10-13 min walk to either David Square or Porter on the red line. Super gentle staff. Free coffee and drinks available at all times. Room was decently spacious
Disliked: WiFi was a little slow in my room and daily room cleaning needed to be booked every day for the day after at reception, if desired

It's a bargain, it's clean,...

Liked: Location is great, lots of access to dining and public transport. on site parking is a plus
Disliked: Bed was *not* a queen, it was a double and quite uncomfortable. TV was tiny and static-y and internet was spotty

A nice place ruined by...

Liked: A beautiful building, mostly nicely appointed.
Disliked: The shower! The water temperature was quite random, and it has no temperature control (well, at a dribble it's generally a little cooler than at higher pressures), and the pressure tops out at moderately low. Sometimes the shower would range from hot (at a dribble) to scalding (fully on). Other times it would be cold at all settings. Most often it would range from cool (at a dribble) to barely warm (fully on). None of these was satisfactory, and in 3 days, with two people showering each day, we got zero showers at a comfortable temperature. Strangely, at one point we had the sink and the shower on at the same time, and the shower water stayed cool (no matter how long we left it on at full pressure) even though the sink water was piping hot, so somehow the hot water wasn't making it to the shower. I tried asking if they could turn up the shower temperature (since usually it was too cool) and they just said that someone else must be using it too, so try it later. No, I don't want to spend my vacation in the room testing the shower at different times of day. This ruined what was otherwise a fairly nice place to stay. Also: the toilet often kept running after flushing, and jiggling the handle multiple times would eventually make it stop.
