We loved our stay here,...

Liked: Lovely staff, a serene contemporary haven, everything worked, super clean, good location, very delicious beautifully presented breakfast.
Disliked: Smidge noisy outside our window sometimes at night but nothing that disturbed us particularly.

Staff Entered My Room While...

Disliked: I stayed at 9Hotel Opéra in Paris and experienced a violation of personal privacy and safety that no guest should ever endure. On the morning of checkout, despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign being clearly displayed, a hotel staff member knocked on my door asking if I needed cleaning. I informed them — explicitly — that no one was to access my room until I checked out at noon.Less than an hour later (with DND sign still in place), that same employee unlocked and entered my room WITHOUT CONSENT. I was naked, just about to step into the shower. I screamed for them to leave, vulnerable, shocked and outraged.I reported the incident immediately to the front desk and later had a call with the General Manager. During the call, she expressed how fearful and uneasy my experience made her feel as a woman who also travels alone. She thanked me for contacting the hotel directly before posting publicly — saying that having my report allowed her to act on documentation from a guest, rather than reacting to a public relations crisis.She assured me the hotel would terminate the third-party cleaning company and replace them with an all-female internal team. While this is a positive systemic step, it does not address the direct harm I experienced.I requested a full refund of my $1,700 stay — not to be punitive, but because this was a fundamental breach of safety and consent. Instead, I was issued a $400 refund — roughly the cost of one night and breakfast. That kind of refund might be reasonable for a malfunctioning air conditioner or disruptive construction — but not for a violation of personal safety and consent.Despite their verbal assurances, the hotel reframed my experience as an “inconvenience” and went silent after I followed up.I tried to resolve this quietly, respectfully, and directly with the hotel. They had every opportunity to make this right. They chose not to. I am sharing this so future SOLO FEMALE travelers can make a safer choice than 9Hotel Opéra.

A great location and fine...

Liked: Accommodation was located centrally for access to most forms of transport, room was well appointed.
Disliked: Breakfast was not as expected and lacked any assistance or details for the breakfast. Room that we had while well appointed had the bed looking at the toilet in the bathroom. The area adjacent the reception was fine, however, having a day long meeting that limited access to the library area.

Liked: Location was perfect.
Disliked: Room was small and in need of an update. Old, tired bathroom. Very thin walls, could hear neighbours alarm and yawns.

Noisy, poorly managed hotel —...

Disliked: I stayed at the 9Hotel Opéra and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. My room was on the second floor, and between 11:00 pm and 12:00 midnight, I could clearly hear the metro running beneath the building, as well as loud doors slamming and guests shouting from room to room with no regard for others.I tried to be patient, hoping it would stop, but around 1:00 am the noise escalated again, louder than before. I called the Reception desk, explained the situation, and was told they could not hear anything but would check. However, the disturbances continued until around 2:00 am.In the morning, I went to Reception Desk to once again report what had happened during the night. To my surprise, they claimed they had no record of my complaint. I explained everything once more and was told they would look into it. When I returned later that day, no one offered an apology, a room change, or any form of compensation. Nothing was done to address the issue, and I felt completely disregarded as a guest.This was by far the most unpleasant hotel experience I have had in Paris. The hotel is not well soundproofed, and the lack of management response was disappointing.I do not recommend this hotel, particularly if you are hoping for a restful stay. The location is good, but unfortunately, the service and comfort fall short of expectations.
