Tired hotel

Liked: Location was perfect.
Disliked: Room was small and in need of an update. Old, tired bathroom. Very thin walls, could hear neighbours alarm and yawns.

Noisy, poorly managed hotel —...

Disliked: I stayed at the 9Hotel Opéra and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. My room was on the second floor, and between 11:00 pm and 12:00 midnight, I could clearly hear the metro running beneath the building, as well as loud doors slamming and guests shouting from room to room with no regard for others.I tried to be patient, hoping it would stop, but around 1:00 am the noise escalated again, louder than before. I called the Reception desk, explained the situation, and was told they could not hear anything but would check. However, the disturbances continued until around 2:00 am.In the morning, I went to Reception Desk to once again report what had happened during the night. To my surprise, they claimed they had no record of my complaint. I explained everything once more and was told they would look into it. When I returned later that day, no one offered an apology, a room change, or any form of compensation. Nothing was done to address the issue, and I felt completely disregarded as a guest.This was by far the most unpleasant hotel experience I have had in Paris. The hotel is not well soundproofed, and the lack of management response was disappointing.I do not recommend this hotel, particularly if you are hoping for a restful stay. The location is good, but unfortunately, the service and comfort fall short of expectations.

5th stay, was great as...

Liked: Staff very friendly, very welcoming. Ali from the night service was excellent and greatly helped out with several special requests.

• A stay ruined by...

Liked: The facilities and location of the hotel were excellent.
Disliked: A deeply humiliating and traumatising end to my stay – appalling treatment by staff in a moment of genuine crisisI stayed at this hotel for four nights and had a generally uneventful experience. After checking out on my final day, I remained in the lobby for several hours, quietly working on my laptop while waiting for an early morning flight. At around 22:45, I collected my luggage from reception and stepped out for a final meal before heading to the airport.What happened next was one of the most distressing and humiliating experiences of my life — made infinitely worse by the cold, inhumane way I was treated by the hotel staff.Shortly after dining at a nearby restaurant (a 5-minute walk away), I was hit with an intense and sudden onset of diarrhoea. There was no warning. No build-up. Just immediate, severe stomach distress. The restaurant had no toilet available, and I found myself in a state of panic. The hotel — where I had been a paying guest and had just collected my bags — was the only place I could think to go.Tragically, I didn’t make it in time. Just metres from the entrance, I lost control of my bowels. It was mortifying. I was physically and emotionally distressed. Desperate.I returned to the front desk and pleaded with the night staff member — the same man who had handed me my luggage barely an hour earlier — to let me use the bathroom. After some hesitation, he agreed. As I walked toward the toilets downstairs, I believe he realised (from the smell) what had happened.At first, he asked if I was okay. But any empathy quickly vanished. While I was downstairs cleaning myself up — still fully clothed and keeping everything contained — he came down repeatedly. His tone shifted from concern to cold impatience. He kept saying, “You need to leave,” and insisting I make sure the area was clean.
