Exceptional
Liked: Perfect location, just around the corner from Edinburgh Bus Station and the National Portrait Gallery. Friendly staff, good breakfast and I loved the view over New Town as we had a room at the back.

Superb
Liked: The location for us was great, although it is not directly in the city centre. Tram, bus and train stations are all close by, old city centre is 15 min walk away. The room was cleaned daily and the beds were comfortable. You can see the sea from the room window.
Disliked: The walls are really thin and you can hear everthing. Fortunately no one was really loud.

Fantastic hotel in a fabulous...
Liked: Excellent central location but very quiet bedrooms. Super clean and lovely decor. Nice to stay in a period building with a bit of character. Great coffee in the morning at the bar downstairs. Really could not fault anything.
Disliked: Everything was wonderful. I wish more hotels were like this

Location was perfect for me...
Liked: Breakfast is basic, no cooked breakfast offered here.
Disliked: A cooked breakfast. Better task lighting for the desk area would be helpful. Shower over bath is would be difficult for older people to get in and out of safely as the bath is very deep.

Lovely hotel……will return! Says it...
Liked: Very good value for money, great staff, very clean and comfortable. Our room exceeded expectations, great view over the Forth and nice touches with the Tunnocks tea cake and caramel wafer. The bar area was cosy and modern and competitively priced. Continental breakfast was good with plenty choice, tea/coffee, cereals, pastries, waffles and toast or bagels. All round a very pleasant experience and we will return and definitely recommend 28 York Place Hotel. Thank you!
Disliked: The stairs but we knew beforehand that there was no lift so not really a problem!
