Great Mom/Daughter Overnight
Liked: Super nice staff, fresh cookies and tea available upon arrival, super clean and very quiet rooms, wine and cheese in the library and great little continental breakfast spread in the morning. Spacious nicely appointed room. Close to the historic downtown for five minute walk to shops and food.
Disliked: The only personal downside is the location being both a plus and a minus. Close and convenient to shops and restaurants, but sadly, the visual surroundings of urban sprawl and highrises on streets surrounding the beautiful home and petite property is no eye candy for the Victorian Bed and Breakfast lover?s soul who longs for a street view that matches the beauty of the bed and breakfast. We discovered Charlottesville was much more urban and ?industrial? looking with high rises and construction in the historic downtown area than we expected. Again though, zero wrong with the property itself besides the contrast to its high rise neighbors.

From the moment we arrived,...
Liked: The location was fantastic, two block walking to the cobblestone downtown area and surrounded by great restaurants and bars. From the moment of check in, to every interaction with the staff, the hospitality warm and inviting. Our room was perfect and quiet and we felt like the only one in the cottage. It was the perfect space to rest and relax. In addition, the breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese hit the spot! All in all, a super weekend getaway at a perfect B&B!

Cute but under construction.
Liked: The room was cute and clean. It's not a modern room with modern appliances or lighting. It's quaint and traditional. Very clean. The location is outrageously good, right downtown. Staff was polite and the granola at breakfast was to die for.
Disliked: The inn was remodeling its parking lot and construction started outside my window at 7AM. I was on the ground floor and when I woke there was a man standing at my window just looking in, presumably someone working on the parking lot. I didn't care for that. Because the lot was under construction, they asked that guests park at a nearby city lot and provided a validated ticket. I didn't mind walking between the lot and the inn, but the validated ticket didn't work so I ended up paying for the parking. I suspect this would be a great place to stay when their construction is done, but I would avoid until that point. They should have told me.
