11/10, no notes, amazing

Liked: So warm, so comfy, and the breakfast each day was superb!! The B&B is located a block away from the main road, and was the perfect location. The host was so lovely and accomodating, and was always ready with some excellent ideas and suggestions for the activities we were planning on doing.

This B&B was a major...

Liked: The owners were not present. Their daughter greeted us and was accommodating. The daughter's grandfather was present each day at breakfast. He was congenial and a pleasure and joy to have in our company.
Disliked: The entire building inside and out needs a lot of work, The exterior was anything but inviting. Old, dingy bunting was displayed and detracted from the appearance of the property. The exterior woodwork was noticeably dirty, and cobwebs were plainly visible on the lower windows. While the dining room and living room had an inviting appearance, they do not match the photos that we saw online. Boxes of supplies were piled in an area just off the staircase, which detracted from the appearance of the foyer. Our bedroom was large, but needs a lot of work and cleaning. The bedposts had a noticeable layer of dust. The woodwork in the toilet room was filthy with noticeable dirt and dust. The bathroom had an old tiled floor, and a small tile came up when I stepped on it to enter the tub. I noticed what I thought were the remains of insects next to the bathtub, but when I bent down to pick them up with tissue I discovered that what I saw were large clumps of dried mud and dirt. We were there 3 nights but the room was not cleaned or the bed made once while we there. As for the bed, it was uncomfortable. Contrary to the B&B's website that a full breakfast would be served (prior guests raved about the meals), there was no full breakfast. The first day, we had pastries, yogurt, fruit, and boxed juice. Everything was laid out on a table in the living room. Both my wife and and my friend's wife noticed that what we were served came from Costco. On the second day, my friend's wife told the owner's daughter she was disappointed and surprised that a hot breakfast was not served. She and we were then offered bagels or raisin toast. On the third day (our last breakfast), a toaster was included on the breakfast table along with bread and bagels, potato patties, small quiches, halves of hardboiled eggs, and the usual boxed juice, yogurt and fruit. It was better than the first day but not what was advertised or expected.

Fantastic breakfasts.

Liked: Breakfasts and service for them was terrific. Michelle was very engaging and welcoming. Parking was very convenient, right out front on the street.
Disliked: The condition of the balcony was sub par, both of the physical condition as well as the cleanliness. It is an old house (1888) and with that comes some quirks.

Awful. Despite having to leave...

Liked: A day prior to our arrival, the owner asked us for our breakfast preferences and was quite friendly and helpful over the phone.
Disliked: The King George VI Suite was not properly cleaned. There were visible cob webs and dead insects in the window sills and there was a very large dog roaming free in the place. There was also a very musty and unpleasant odour in the suite living area. To access the washroom you must exit your sleeping/living area and cross a publicly accessible hallway. This was not described in the description of the suite. Had we known, we would have never booked it. My partner has a severe allergy to dust mites and upon arrival immediately broke into hives and we were unable to stay as a result. After describing our experience to the owner, she was very dismissive and despite saying she would get back to us, she never did and made no attempt to try and address our concerns.
