A lovely stay only slightly...
Liked: It's important to start by saying that none of the below would deter us from staying here again. The biggest disappointment was the room disturbance in the morning, housekeeping knocked a number of times at our door in the morning, starting around 8am (we were due to check-out at 12pm), which ruined the relaxing morning we wanted for our breakaway from kids and dogs for a night. The check-in and check out staff were rather stressed on both occasions which reflected when we ordered room service and the food we received (whilst delicious) was not quite what we ordered (wrong kind of eggs, waffles instead of pancakes). Nothing massive, but little details that made the stay less magical. Finally, tiny details were missing from our lovely but very small room, bin bags in the bins, we also didn't have any soap.
Disliked: The overall feel of the hotel was excellent, we wanted a slightly more luxurious stay than our usual choices for a special occasion and the hotel didn't disappoint. From the striking decor in the public spaces, to the picturesque details in our room. The bar was excellent, both for its well designed menu and its skilled staff which truly made our evening special. The local cocktails were stunning and we made a point of coming back for a night cap at the end of our evening as we felt we wouldn't get a better experience in the local wine bars or pubs around. The room service was delicious (albeit not exactly what we ordered) and well presented, it's definitely worth considering ordering the room service breakfast, if staying there. Finally when we raised some of the hiccups we encountered when checking out, the staff very thoughtfully offered a small compensation, which demonstrated that ultimately customers come first at Queens Gate Hotel.

lovely hotel, great location but...
Liked: loved the decoration, ambiance, friendliness of the staff and cocktail bar. Location is fantastic as well. 8-10 mins walk to Royal Albert Hall or 20mins walk to Kensington High Street.
Disliked: Small rooms. Paid for an upgrade from a. Mews room to a Queens Gate room and thought they?d made a mistake. Only the Nespresso machine gave away the fact we were in an ?up- graded? room. Was well decorated but felt like we were staying in a student dorm room from the size of it. would of expected more from the price and up-grade.

Wont be staying here again...
Liked: Clean (providing you asked for maid service on second day)
Disliked: refused entry into the residents bar for having trainers on. was allowed to walk down into the bar(passed all reception workers) to be met at the bottom of the stairs by the bar manager to be told there was a dress code and that we weren?t allowed in. spending nearly £300 for two nights stay and was told that if we wanted an evening drink we would have to get room service. eventually the manager conceded that we could have the one night cap that we wanted, - as I clearly pointed out to him that there was handfuls of men already in the bar with trainers on, so can only conclude that the main issue here was that we were women in trainers. when the bill came (for two baileys) we noticed that they had added on ?service? so we asked them to take it off as we weren?t happy with the service we had received and was met by the angry bar man who literally threw our receipt back at us and stormed off after trying to tell us that everywhere add service onto every billwe will respect any dress code, had we been clearly told or made aware of it at the start of the stay, but also feel that as residents this shouldn?t have been implemented we have travelled the world and never been felt to feel the way we did in this hotel bar in front of other guests can?t help but wonder that it would have been a totally different experience had we worn the short skirt to go with trainers/pumps
