A smart and budget-friendly base in the heart of Kensington, 1 Lexham Gardens Hotel offers simple comfort with a modern touch. Just a short walk from Earl's Court and the Museum Mile, this hotel is perfect for music fans who want to explore the city by day and catch a concert by night. With a 24-hour front desk, private en-suite rooms, and a central location, it’s a convenient choice for anyone heading to a gig.

Why Concert-goers love it

The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Earl's Court Station, giving you fast access to London’s biggest music venues via the Underground. After the encore, you can be back in your room in no time. The quiet Kensington neighborhood offers a peaceful retreat from the crowds, and the 24/7 reception makes late-night returns easy. While check-in starts at 14:00, the hotel’s location and ease of transport make it perfect for those arriving later in the day.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a central, affordable base
- Solo travelers attending a must-see show
- Couples enjoying a music-filled weekend
- Fans needing a quiet space to unwind after the show
- Budget-conscious music lovers who want value without sacrificing location

Food and Drink Options

Start your day right with a traditional continental breakfast, served daily in a charming dining room—perfect for a slow start after a late night. While the hotel doesn’t offer late-night room service, you’ll find a wide variety of international restaurants steps from the door, many of which stay open late.

Nightlife Options

You’re a short Tube ride from London’s top nightlife areas, or stay local and enjoy the relaxed pubs and bars around Kensington High Street. While there’s no on-site bar, the area is full of cozy lounges and spots to grab a post-show drink.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel’s location, calling it a “great base for exploring the city.” Many highlight the clean, modern rooms and friendly staff. The convenience to public transport and walkable access to dining is a big plus for concert-goers.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are on the smaller side, which is fairly typical for London hotels in this price range. Some guests mention thin walls, so light sleepers might want to pack earplugs. There’s no elevator, so be prepared to carry luggage up stairs.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to a concert and want a comfortable, affordable, and well-connected hotel in a quiet part of central London, 1 Lexham Gardens Hotel hits all the right notes.

Exceptional

Liked: We liked everything! Always greeted by nice and welcoming staff, rooms were really good/clean and with plenty of tea/cofee and toiletries. Breakfast was very good, with variety to please everyone. Location is perfect, there is a subway not far away for anyone who wants to travel into the city. Price is totally fair and good for this location.

Disappointing

Liked: Location was good - within 10 minute walk from tube station and less than 15 minutes to National History Musuem.
Disliked: Strange, slightly damp smell throughout the hotel. Our room was not as well furnished and appointed as those shown on the website - very misleading photos. Also the furniture in our room was heavily scuffed - useable but not aesthetically pleasing.£170 for a family room in central-ish London is cheap for London but you definitely get what you pay for - this room was very basic.Very small bathroom with no area to put toiletries or even hang up all towels. Biggest issue though was there is no double glazing and our room was on the back elevation where there was a restaurant/bar with outdoor area. As the night progressed the music got louder and me and my husband both couldn't get to sleep due to the volume of music (I am normally a heavy sleeper).

Ok, clean and tidy but...

Liked: Room was clean and tidy, great location.
Disliked: No fan or air con, room was very warm meaning window had to be open and it was very noisy. Pub with beer garden outside playing music till late. We also had a drain running through our walls and it made a loud noise every time someone else flushed a toilet above us. Breakfast was odd, with mini hotdog susages!

Perfect hotel for a short...

Liked: The hotel's location was perfect, just 7 minutes away from Earls Court underground station, there is a restaurant opposite which would have been perfect for dinner, although we were extremely tired after the whole day walking and sightseeing so decided to stay in the hotel and we opted for buying some food from a Sainsbury's just 5 minutes away from the hotel. The check-in was extremely easy, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The Deluxe Family room was a good size with just what you need to rest and continue your sightseeing in London, with complementary water, coffee, tea and biscuits, and a kettle, plus all the toiletries you would need and a hair dryer. The breakfast was perfect, full English and continental options, nice coffee machine and fruit juices, perfect to start your day before another long day walking through London. My husband, my 3 boys and I enjoyed our stay in the hotel, and would definitely book to stay there again.
Disliked: There was just a tissue on the floor, which might have been easily missed under the bed, but apart from that, the room was very clean and beds nicely made with fresh linen and towels.
